How many top 10 defenses has Lowry faced as a starter?

Well the bulls and bucks come to mind, maybe the cats? I don't know who they are but one of our theories is Lowry lack of offensive versatility makes our offense vulnerable to strong defensive teams, or teams that can zero in and exploit your weakness, like we would be facing in the playoffs.

we aren't supposed to look at past playoffs since we supposedly are a much different team. Whatever though, if people are content showing Lowry fancy stats vs bad teams, then so be it.

Are you intentionally trying to preclude our victory against Indiana where Ish started but played only 13 min while Lowry played 34 min?

I want both guys to do well.

I'd rather have Brooks as the starter in the grand scheme but I think Lowry has earned the right to start until Brooks is fully healthy.

Tonight Lowry looked really bad at times and really good at others.

I want that off the Bench and some times with Brooks at the same time in the fourth quarter.

Lowry against the Bucks was MINUS 14.....

He was terrible.....the entire team stunk...but we had no flow, this is what happens when your PG can not shoot the ball.

Where have we seen this before from our PG? He has a few good shooting games then back to normal.....

Hurry back AB, this team needs you.

True, when our PG sucks and can't score the ball the team loses, that is why AB must start, he is better than Lowry at scoring the ball and running an effective half court offense.

    End of story.....

he's shooting nearly 50% from the field in the last 12. good try though.

when he balls it up tomm..it'll be bc it was against a crappy team

edit: what does that even mean? our record indicates that we're crappy

As a starter, Lowry has shot 44% from the field, and 43% from three, in 14 games.

He is also giving us 7.6 assists, 2.3 steals, and 4.1 rebounds.

Our team has looked far better with Lowry starting.

    Fact.

Brooks is needed, but I am not so sure that we want to make our starters that awful on the defensive end.

Brooks and Martin can not coexist.

Either way, I have a feeling that Brooks and Lowry will be finishing games while Martin/Lee ride the pine in the 4th.

Brooks is certainly better at scoring, but it is a farce to say that he is better at running a halfcourt offense.

On another note, on the other side of the ball, the one that gets absurdly overlooked by yourself, and was the real reason we lost to the Bucks to any basketball educated eye, Does anyone really believe that Brooks and Martin can play together on a championship team?

Can you name 5 crappier PG defenders than Aaron Brooks?
Can you name 5 crappier SG defenders than Kevin Martin?

If you want the Rockets to win a ring, you better hope that Lowry is the starter, or that we get a better defender at the PG/SG, because I will tell you now, It. Will. Not. Work.

The half court offense was fine. We continually got open looks, but we simply missed them. And when none of the starting scoring threats shoot over 40% (Scola 4-13, Battier 2-8, Martin 5-13, Lowry 4-15) its almost a guaranteed loss.

Bogut had 24 pts and 22 rebounds last night. We miss Yao far more than Brooks.

This is why you annoy people. You make blatantly false statement.

I could make a more persuasive argument that Lowry is a better scorer than Brooks than you could about Brooks running the half court offense more effectively than Lowry.

Trust Wkko( resident Yao nut rider) to make this into a Yao V Brooks thread.

In my entire post, I made 1 comment about needing Yao due to Bogut's beasting, and suddenly, I've turned this into a Yao v Brooks thread?

    You're an idiot.

I'm with you 100% right here. You can have Brooks...you can have Martin. But you put yourself in a serious disadvantage if you give both of them the bulk of the minutes at their respective positions...because neither can play a lick of defense.

The other thing is that they are much better at scoring for themselves rather than for others. So you end up with a bunch of guys standing around watching them.

My comment was about the falsehoods regarding the shooting pg theory. More times than not, posters are using bs to discredit a guy. The common them is brooks is an ineffecient chucker, not a pg, yet i used those same numbers and put them in comparison to a real pg. The real pg parker, whom myself and others have compared brooks to. How come parker is this real pg on a championship team and brooks is a chucker sg in a pg body? I will tell you why.

Too many posters dont like brooks because of yao. They've seen brooks wave yao off or shoot vs waiting for yao to eat up the shot clock trying to get position. So the frustration is let out by saying what he's not vs what he is. Brooks is a guard. He's in the mold of the old school when teams had 2 guards,2 forwards, and a center. Now just because he doesnt fit the mold of a pure pg doesnt mean posters have to make up bs about whether he makes the team better or the team capable of winning with him. The team is better served by adding a player in the backcourt or small forward like Iggy who can help him and the team more than a guy like martin.

Against mostly CRAP teams, the Rox barely lost to the Lakers in the first game on their home court......with a hobbling Yao Ming.

Give AB the ball and we are a much better starting unit.

Agree we need them both and they will probably finish some games together.

    Stupidity !
