Is it a coinsidence that Shaq has ruined all his teams with demands and restrictions because of his excessive salary and thrown them under the bus as hes left?

Lol how does D Wade even count this year? When they traded him for Marion, Marion got injured shortly after and D Wade was injured earlier so that screwed it up for them. I'm pretty sure they gave up around half way through the season realising they had no chance for the playoffs lol. Anyways how are you meant to win with just Wade and Shaq and a bunch of scrubs.

Agree. And Kobe will own just about every single offensive record in the game when it is all said and done. Kobe is a once in a lifetime player and I'm thankful that he's playing during my lifetime so that I can tell my grandchildren I watched him play in his prime.

I rather have my team win championship and then being thrown under a bus for a couple of years than not doing any damage at all.

That said, I don't like DramaShaq, but I respect him.

I make no bones about not liking Kobe Bryant. If you don’t like it you can go back to KBL Inc or some other Laker BS.BBS (that welcomes Kobe-Butt-Lickers). That said I understand he is a great player, and deserves this year's regular season MVP.

However Shaq was the unanimous MVP the 3 times Kobe was fitted with rings. Wade was a unanimous pick for Shaq's 4th ring--Shaq does owe Wade for that one, just as anyone with half a brain knows Kobe got his on the strong back of Shaq. Just because Kobe, Horry and Fisher all made big shots during the stretch doesn't take away that it was obvious who the most important player was—the one who created their opportunities. Since Shaq left Kobe until this year has been nothing except a scorer who can't lead his team to jack *****. We will see this year, but don't count your chickens yet.

Finally, no, Kobe is not a once a lifetime player and he won't set any records. He will not approach the playoff or regular season achievements of Kareem, Russell, Wilt or Jordan. He almost certainly won't get playoff MVPs like Shaq (3), Duncan (3) and probably Hakeem (2) as well. If any current player is going to be the next generational player, it is Lebron, who is at a higher scoring pace than Kobe at the same age and much superior in other respects (assists, boards, shooting %, leadership, etc).

How can you say that with so much surety? He is a young 29 (as opposed to the 35 year old body of T-Mac). He has the best starting lineup in the league surrounding him when Bynum comes back next year. The Holy Trinity of Dallas-Phoenix-SanAntonio looks to be over. Of the new elite, L.A. is better than New Orleans and Utah. With only Boston in the Finals standing in their way until Ray Allen turns 34 and breaks down, how can you argue that Kobe won't accumulate as many postseason MVP awards as the aforementioned now that he has the supporting cast?

He's the second greatest guard of all time.

So far all that is all paper. How many other times to we said "this team is the future of the league" only to find it isn't. Lead his team to a championship 1st.

Ridiculous. He has a debatable case for being the 2nd best Laker guard. His total resume isn’t near Magic's to date, with a ton of accomplishments left to get there (and it isn't like he isn't 29 without a lot of miles--let see if he can get 2-3 titles as a leader before being Magic level). And many to date would say Mr. Clutch, i.e., the Logo is greater at this point, though I am sure other would take Kobe--a healthy debate there. And then there is of course Jordan, which he has maybe a 1% chance of surpassing as the best SG of all time.

Further, Kobe is the 2nd best swingman in the league today. And the better player is 6 years younger and has already put his team on his back to a finals appearance. If you want to talk potential legacy, upside and a fantastic talent and leader in today’s NBA, that guy is Lebron.

Kobe is a great player and great scorer, but keep it real until he leads his team to a couple of rings.
