Guys Mobley won’t be a bust. He will be another Capela with better offense at the very least in my opinion. Jalen Green is equally a stick and we will have to wait for either one to fill out in a few years. My only concern with Green is that I haven’t seen much of the rest of his game. We know he’s not a good defender but he’s supposedly “working on it”. He also doesn’t strike me a player with good court vision, I haven’t really seen any extended videos of him making good passes. That said I would love to have Green or Mobley. I think both will be great BUT if Mobley pans out he will be one of a kind.
No worries boys we are getting Green, but we can get size, length, defensive switching all at 23 and 24. I have been back and forth on these two guys.
Thing is being a stickman a guard isn't that much of a determinant aa being a stick at center, you know the guy that has to rebound and hold guys 50 pounds heavier
Well it would be foolish not to consider trading down if Cleveland or Toronto want to overpay. Particularly if Suggs is considered the safer pick.
I thought Green was locked in earlier this week. Now? Who TF knows? I love how cf ends up arguing who is the better shooter? The center or the shooting guard? Green gang labels their guy MJ and then criticizes Mobley for not being Hakeem/Dirk hybrid. Both of these kids are going to be good. HOF? Who knows?
It seems like a three way deal that puts Sexton in New York, Cleveland at pick #2 and the Rockets picking up assets to move down 1 makes a lot of sense for all parties. If Green/Mobley is essentially neck and neck for Houston.
I was leaning towards Green but now Iam thinking Mobley is the player we should draft. He has features that raise the ceiling more. The most important one is his defensive potential to never be a liability on the modern NBA court. He has DPOY written all over him without the island limitation we see in a player like Gobert. Offensively he will need time but the mechanics are there and certainly the athleticism. The thing we overlook and should emphasize more for modern bigs is passing ability. Looking at his tapes that is a huge asset in my book with benefits that go beyond any stat sheet.
It's a luxury to get to pick between Green and Mobley. A generational offensive talent and a generational fulcrum big man. Prefer Mobley because I've soured on watching hero ball for 8 seasons and wouldn't mind some sound fundamental basketball (this dude is basically a taller, better, more athletic Scola) but I'm cool either way.
