Can’t figure out why no one in Houston is calling for Silas’ job after watching waste of time basketball for a year and a half. If you like turnovers, wild covered 3 pointers (by subpar shooters), horrendous free throw shooting, an offensive strategy of 3-4 players always standing outside the three point line with no movement whatsoever, and Danual House…..then you must love Steven Silas basketball.
To be fair, I’m seeing Silas slander everywhere. Seems like 95% of the fan base, whether it’s on Clutchfans, Twitter, or Reddit, has turned on Silas.
He has a team full of players who should be playing college basketball. You could have the greatest coach ever and he wouldn't win with this group.
Wood, Porter, House, Gordon, Theis, Augustin, Nwaba are not first year players and would not be playing college basketball at this point in their careers. Coaching is horrible on this team.
I get that some people want to talk about this but I don't get why it needs 30 threads with the same question that can be answered with a google search. It's not subjective. It's objective: it does not matter TO THEM this season. That's Tilman, Patrick, Stone, Silas and most of the roster on board with that. That's not going to change. They would rather sit a $40m player than not treat the season as though everyone is 19. We're not trying to win as a priority, that's why no one cares what anyone thinks of the coach right now. If there are shots that will help these players develop but hurt our chances of winning, we are always 100% of the time choosing the shot that will develop the player. Everyone wants to talk about winning culture but we need to have BASKETBALL PLAYERS, these kids are not basketball players yet. We should NOT start running with a mediocre bunch of vets towards a play-in spot and incrementally add pieces, we will end up like the Jazz or Suns, if you are building from scratch and can aim for anything why the hell aim for anything other than a chance at a dynasty???????

Silas needs to play Sengun 30 minutes, Garuba at least 20 minutes, Josh Christopher at least 20 minutes, House zero minutes - or get fired. He also needs to start actually COACHING Green and Porter. It's ok for us to lose, but it's not ok to build bad habits and not learn and improve. Dude just sits there like a spectator.
Just throwing this out there…..we get new coach/staff and start the following lineup: Wall, Gordon, Tate, Wood, Sengun - bench is Theis, Porter, Green, Martin (all would do well against backups). That’s a more watchable competitive team.
THIS just demote him dont fire him Tilly keep him around for laughs sake , hes an icon, and hell be famous and known as the only man alive who managed to (somewhat) stops Sengun the best player of all times!
Exactly. I said this waaaay before the season started. People clamoring for Garuba and Christopher?? That is coming as well. The only other thing besides losing they want to to do is trade Gordon and possibly Wood. Then you will see the former players, along with more losing. Next season it will change somewhat. Then the following season they will go all in and hopefully increase the win total every year from then on.
