After listening to some news, I see that you're toeing the new GOP party line of 'it's cool if she's 'barely' (15ish) legal'.

Use your brain, it's terrible to even make the distinction. How about we just call them KID F*CKERS and be done with it? If your 15yo is the paramour of some stodgy old pervert, you're going to be cool with it?

 

As a patriotic American, I hope Trump stays alive long enough to witness the entire fall out of the Epstein files.

 

Colloquially, people use the word pedophilia to mean any sexual interest in a minor- whether they are 5 or 15 years old. This is like saying, sexual assault with a finger or a broomstick handle isn't rape because it wasn't a penis.

 

The arguments in here are weird. There are a lot of research papers you can go read about defining pedophilia.

There is a social definition that is basically "anyone under 18 if the offender is old enough to make it feel gross" and then there is a clinical definition that defined it as an attraction to prepubescent children.

I'm uncomfortable calling someone who sleeps with a fully developed 17 year old a pedophile because that cheapens the word. The person who rapes the 8 year old is very clearly disturbed and those two crimes need to be distinguishable.

Trafficking underage girls (let's say 13-17) is still a crime, still morally reprehensible, still should be disqualifying, etc. but we shouldn't broadly lump in with all sex with any child under the age of 18. There is a HUGE difference between the man who is attracted to 9 year olds and the man who is attracted to a 16 year old.

 

Bruh 16.. seriously? To me a man attracted to 9 or 16 year old, both are disgusting.

Some people here need to be on a list.

 

I think in my mind the reason to draw a distinction is because one (pedophile) very likely has a psychological disorder and the other doesn't necessarily.

Like you could be shown a picture of a girl at 17 and think she was good looking not realizing she was 17. If I showed you a picture of a 10 year old and you thought that though there is something wrong with your brain. Does that make sense?

 

Two things can be wrong and not be the same thing though.

Nah bro. To me, a middle-aged man, a younger woman is just not attractive. Not even someone in their mid-20's. It's not hard to discern a person's age if you pay attention.

I also have no problem saying 'she's a pretty little girl' or 'he's a handsome little dude'. There is zero sexual attraction there.

i dont think this will be the end of the trump administration. 35-40% of this country will always support him no matter what. look at his supporters in this thread. its all deflect-and-blame. they are now even questioning whether or not epstein and trump were ever friends in the first place.

There are two very different processes going on between a person who is attracted to, as you said, a 9 year old vs someone who is into 'barely legal'.

If you have EVER been sexually attracted to a child (under 12) then you have issues that need to be resolved. That is pedophilia.

When I was 14-18, I was sexually attracted to women in that age range. That is perfectly normal for that age.

It is very much cheapening and dismissing by mixing the two.
