Why is Trump covering up the Epistein files and lying to the public?

88 charges were brought against him -- all of them completely absurd and using either novel legal theories or the inconsistent application of law. Hush money -- was over a bookkeeping issue by his accountant, was a misdemeanor offense, and was past the statute of limitations. Classified documents case - documents were not classified and he didn't even pack them. Biden literally had classified documents in his garage and these were from his VP days where he didn't enjoy Presidential protections for the docs. Election interference case: Charges related to obstructing an official proceeding, which was absurd because he did nothing of the sort and this was an entrapment situation led by a corrupt set of intel agencies. The Georgia case was just a state-level continuation of the January 6 Committee -- which was a partisan farce.

Not sure how much more evidence you need, my guy! In a way, it was the purest form of rejection possible for the liberal political attackers who brought these charges. Instead of a jury attempting to use a "representative" sample size of 12 to reach a conclusion (even though liberals went for super-blue jury pools as yet another way to subvert the law), we had a nation-wide election where over 150 million people voted. And the people spoke to the validity of these 88 charges. President Trump was elected and the rest is history. Thank God.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on Matt Colangelo leaving his senior post in the Biden Administration to go help Alvin Bragg prosecute Trump in New York on a bookkeeping discrepancy... This might have been the most absurd charge (you don't bring a ticky tack misdemeanor charge against a Presidential candidate and then go so far as to label it a felony), and I think played a huge role in shifting public support to Trump. They saw how justice was being weaponized against him and they wanted to part of a society that uses the legal system in that manner. It was turning our country into a banana republic -- when the scales of justice should be blind to partisanship. Liberal commentators on the networks even admit this -- for you to not admit it suggests you might be in the top 10% or so of most partisan people. I think you know it, you just won't admit it here.

In any event, THANK YOU to the liberal buffoons who thought that knocking Trump out of the race in the courtroom (and sacrificing the integrity of our legal system) was a good idea. Same folks who tried to censor him and got him kicked off social media... same folks who tried to remove his name from the ballot... same folks who tried to remove him from office via impeachment... Yet, here they are claiming the 88 charges were all on the up and up! They lack any and all self awareness -- which is their Achilles heel with the American people. Yeah, he does. Just being snarky. As @dobro1229 says, he's trying to gaslight his base into believing they don't care about Epstein so he can keep them. He needs to keep the House in the midterms and, as you say, he needs foot soldiers for 2029. Not that I think he will necessarily attempt a coup again but he will at least want to use the threat of a coup to negotiate his post-presidency.

My experience with the Trump base of supporters paints a slightly different picture to me.

For instance my ultra conservative mom who gets offended by women in bikinis on network television is a diehard Trump supporter. When she's questioned about his morals, she often will go to the story in the Bible of David.

I assume you know about King David, but if you are not he's a character who essentially lusted after one of his soldiers wives, had that soldier sent to front lines of battle so he'd be killed, and then King David fcked that widow. He's a terrible person who then repented, and became a one of key leaders in the old testiment.

That IMO paints the picture of a base of followers who accept, and even embrace Trump's moral depravity because they believe he is now a tool of god. They believe we are in end times, and Trump is the key to the fight in the end times that'll ultimately bring Jesus back down to earth to fight satan.

And that is the Christian Nationalism point of view. There is also the pure White Nationalist or tech bro vision of the world where they see Trump similarly as a tool to get them to the promised land they envision, but they come to the equation with no conservative moral views AT ALL.

So I respectfully disagree that Trump's base believes he is clean in the Epstein case. It's my sense that they simply do not case because they believe he's a tool for them to seek retribution on those they hate more than anything... liberals.

I maintain the position that almost all Trump supporters never really cared about the children. It's ALL about retribution and hatred towards their perceived enemies.
