I dont like what mcgrady did concerning his injury, but for anyone to say he wasn't pretty amazing in the playoff games against the jazz and mavs is a fool.

This thread is a summary of everything that is wrong with the NBA. The media has forced the viewer to believe that certain players are above all other players and deserve to be considered the sole reason to a team's success. Team basketball? You've got to be kidding me. This is as far away from team basketball that I've ever seen with the NBA. The ego's, the attitudes, the me first mindset, the unreal salaries, all add up to a big pile of crap that isn't even fun to watch any more.

Every time that I turn on the t.v. I'm bombarded by ESPN's agenda that says you need to worship these people. I'm so sick of it. And the salaries? Don't even get me started. I'm just baffled by the fact that these people get paid millions and millions of dollars to bounce a piece of rubber. I just don't see how that makes any sense at all.

Of course you always have to preface any reply in a thread concerning T-Mac with the disclaimer *I AM NOT A T-MAC APOLOGIST*, but that second video of the dish to Yao makes me sad.

Just like there was that parade down Main Street after we made it to the Second Round, huh? This is stupid. So this year's Rockets teams has the same number of rings/championships as the Rockets teams/seasons in which McGrady played, go figure???

As Artest said, in so many words, all that matters is winning the ring. I'm sick of hearing about the first round exits, you play the game at that level to be champion!!! And being champion of the first round means nothing....

That game and game winning shot always brings back good memories. Can't believe that was 2 seasons ago already.

His team definitely wasn't good enough...

When 3/5 of your starting lineup is Battier, Rafer, and Hayes, then there isn't a lot of scoring to be had...

    lol nicely put...a bit blunt...but i agree.

It is just supprising how he scored so much, yet we lost. But on his normal nights, we won...

not in the playoffs. tracy needed to average 30 pts for us to win those series. unforunately, he didn't.

Lebron also plays in the east. Big difference.

Posts like this (I left it anonymous to not pick out the poster) are why these arguments are frustrating; lots of loose ends in logic.

I don't presume Tracy is as good as LeBron. Also, the makeup of the teams was completely different. Who they were playing against was different. The East prior to '09 was about as deep as a crack in the sidewalk (he got raped by SA). But enough excuses. None of this is relevant to McGrady.

Comparisons get you nowhere. I wouldn't compare TMac to Francis, Olajuwon, LeBron, Kobe, Pistol Pete, or Moochie Norris. Different folks, different times, different teams.

I maintain that he did enough for his teams to win on multiple occasions in the playoffs and the team (collectively: team, Yao, Sura, Bowen, TMac, Alston...) always let us down. I don't give a rat's arse if TMac ever wins anything - but I believe he busted his balls for Houston in the playoffs and came up with nothing to show for it. I think it's just a stupid to say he's the reason for losing those series as it is to say he made it to the second round this year.

Notice Lebron couldnt even get one game from the Spurs, no matter how good you are, you still need a team in order to win

As for this, I have my theories.

The old Rockets supporting cast (Padgett, Sura, Bowen, Barry... and later Head, Hayes, Alston, and co.) always turned into pylons when TMac brutalized the game with his stagnant ISO offense. I used to cringe watching those games, particularly around '06ish. Not only was everyone standing around and deferring, but TMac was chucking up nonsense constantly. It was a predictable, brainless game.

It's a shame that TMac hasn't seen action with our current roster of pitbulls. I don't believe they'd tolerate the same ISO BS. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I think we'd see something closer to the 22-win-streak TMac. In other words, a TMac who realized that scoring 35 and taking 25 shots wasn't as valuable as scoring 20 on 15.

So its ok That T-mac wasent good enough but its not ok that his teamates sucked? i mean Sura played so hard so did Bowen and Alston i mean just cause there not Chris paul and Garnett u cant blame them right? just like u cant blame Tracy for not being LeBron.
