Mentioning the lack of post offense kind of makes me think that it might be time to go ahead and bring up Morris and see what he can do in the post offensively at least. Im not sure who you bench though, but the Rockets and especially Martin really need someone who can get points in the paint.

Martin needs to be traded if he has any value now...the guy has got to feel unwanted the way he is treated by McHale...Martin is way too good of a scorer to be treated like that!

I don't understand why you're killing his trade value before trying to trade him?

I don't think the Rockets had much of a post offense last year. The Kings had no post offense when Martin was with them.

Honestly, I don't see how this isn't on McHale. He keeps feeding Dalembert and Scola instead of using Kevin Martin

his trade value isn't going to go down in any team's eyes. wouldn't change the proposed deal for gasol. they aren't going to no longer do that trade because martin has been "off" recently.

it's the same thing they did with aaron brooks. and yes, i understand that that trade worked out.

McHale needs to change the way he plays Martin. Standing in a corner waiting for a 3 isn't his game. Another thing, when Martin does get the ball, he's not looking to be aggressive and he just passes the ball. On nights where you can't make shots, you'd think he'd try to get to the line more. I mean the guy is quick, he's fast, and he's got the length. I think something's gotten into his head. Mentally, he's just not there during this whole road trip.

It could effect the deal. Also Scola has been terrible this year but that's a seperate issue.

I don't understand why teh best offensive player is basically the guy the ball is swung to.

I don't understand what McHale is doing with Kevin Martin.

His trade value can go down because of the new rules on fouls. Refs have been told to watch for the moves he is known to do to get to the line. I dont have the stats to prove if the refs are enforcing these new rules but his numbers are down. If Martin cant get to the line 8-10 times a game his he wont be a 20ppg player.

i disagree that his trade value can go down at all, but, at minimum, it is impossible for his trade value to go down to the extent of him being the deal-breaker in the rumored trades.

At 4 free throw a game he would have averaged 20 points.

He doesn't even get to touch the damn ball. How about you get told to **** off by your employee and then constantly know that they're trying to get rid of you and then play with full confidence?

And add the fact that his coach was kicked out. Martin has always disliked the way Morey deals with players.

Both Lowry and Goran look to shoot/create something out of nothing before looking to pass. Therefore Martin loses interest and ends up chillin in the corner.

I would also like to add that parsons defenders sag off him because of his inability to shoot. So that is why gets the ball more and is open.

Which means he's not a mentally strong player to get bothered by trade requests.

Rondo is seemingly always on the trade wire and how does he respond? He gets pissed off and goes out there and ball.

If you don't want to get traded then play better. They should trade him obviously. If it is the system or lack of one then that is even more reason to trade him.

martin was averaging over 20pt/game until several games ago.

they must've changed something. when lowy stopped complaining/yelling at the coaches from the floor and found his shot. that's the same time martin and dally started their slump.

It's getting obvious that he is really a bad fit with this team.

    Hit the phones Morey!

It's unfortunate that Martin struggles to affect the game when he is not hitting his shot.

Why do we have to do so much work to get this guy to do the ONE freaking thing he does well?

Is it too much to ask for a guy to not be content standing around on the 3 point line when he adds nothing else to the game? Be agressive. Parsons doesn't have better handles or quickness, how does he get to the rim so often? I'd even rather him just jack up the shot when he touches the ball. It's annoying to watch him pass up an average shot to give it to Parsons or Dalembert for an awful shot with the shot clock going down. Stop worrying about keeping your precious shooting percentages and help us win some damn games.

Rockets were 3-1 against the Grizzlies last season. Martin had outings of 28, 34, 32, and 31.

Is the tactic to sit players backfiring? Especially for a shooter like Martin, needs minutes to get going, get into a rhythm?

Hard if a clear cut SYSTEM is not at disposal.
McHale uses parts of Adelman's system and put in some defensive schemes, using better rebounding positions, clogging up the paint more.
The reason why our rebounding has been better this season.

I think there is something to that too. That he's in this slump and his lack of minutes is not going to help him get out of it.

Still though he's a one way player who only scores and does nothing else for the team and once Yao Ming was done for the year last season they should have looked into trading him.
