I’m not saying he will be better than 2023. Never said that once. He definitely is better than what this season showed and his history proves that. There are other posters who also never liked Chas. Some of them still spell his name wrong after 4 years. You must’ve been a Dusty guy. I don’t know that for sure because I have only noticed your posts for a couple of months now. You talk like a Dusty guy.
I didn't care much for Dusty. I was actually okay with the Astros NOT making the playoffs last year if it meant he would be gone. Turns out he left anyhow. And Chas will definitely be better than he is this year. He's just not a .270 20/70 guy year in and year out player. His overall career is somewhere between last and this year most definitely. .245/14/50 would be my guess on an average season for Chas (either way I'd take that over Meyers)
Dusty didn’t leave. He wasn’t renewed because he threw the season and the ALCS. Also, remember that Chas had those numbers in less than a full season because Dusty jerked him around so much. He even sat him against lefties at times.
i'll admit I called him Chass a couple of times because he didn't deliver, but overall I like the guy and will always appreciate that game 5 catch.
What a Chasset to have on our team. I may need to Chask someone because I don't want to Chassume anything, but I feel he's becoming one of the main Chappects of our future. Wow, I feel so Chaspired right now. I may need to go to a Chasylum.
Funny that one of the 'big boys' in Dusty's eyes in Julio Rodriguez is the reason why Seattle is on the verge of being eliminated.
Sure, who wouldn't prefer to keep Bregman, but that just isn't going to happen in all likelihood, regardless of what happens at first base.
I know you see me as in box #2, ( hopefully that's all) I don't see myself as any of those 4. I hope Chas can come back and continue his late season resurgence. I have always liked Chas but I think he is an overachiever that will likely have a shorter career and not ever be 2023 Chas again - Dusty robbed him and all of us. That's OK though- as a reasonably cheap OF who can play all 3 spots and be very good vs LHP, he is a legitimate MLBer. I just feel he is too much like Meyers and makes the OF susceptible to RHP when they are both among the OF getting most of the playing time. But I hope he proves me wrong- that would he amazing.
Yep, I like Chas and think he can rebound to become an avg to slightly above avg OF. I particularly like Chas in CF. Meyers may be better defensively but not by a lot. Meyer and Chas in the same OF means you've got a below avg OF offense and two guys that throw like girls. That's certainly not optimal. What I wonder is does a team like the Orioles have an up and coming OF prospect that you could trade Pressly, Meyers for? Also I wonder what Conforto would cost on the FA market?
whoever OP was/is: bc you're nowhere near as good as him, nor was JoBruhu, nor could Yuli fit the "need"... so who's your option-- bc #2IN8LETON is one of, if not the biggest silver lining this season.... nobody does that-- nobody washes out, stays away from the game, only to get a look by a minor league affiliate/team, then to be picked up by a DOMINANT force in the AL and HOLD IT TF DOWN WHILE SHOWING UP / SHOWING OUT WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE BRIGHT. Do we have an Judge or a Ohtani or Trout or Soto/Stanton (TFG we dont) on this roster? Like that line in Avengers: Nahhh... we have an 4LV4REZ (man about to redefine what "Air Yordan" phrase means-- love the MJ years), the smallest guy who has the biggest heart and drive and grit for the city in Altuve, THE most dynamic and consistent 3B Houston as ever seen in that position, and HALL of FCKN FAME pitchers who are the best Houston has EVER put out on the mound... I like Gary Pettis & Alex Cintron & Joe Espada & all the org's unknown players. Put some positive energy forward, brother... talk it up amongst your neighbors, friends, family, & non-fans... this team aint gonna last forever-- do what you can to make this season memorable and help get these guys another ring. Positive energy is all it takes, I promise you.
Hey dont ever criticize my (or anyone's who's putting good vibes out there for this team, fan) -- I've never criticized your skepticism... I'm not one of the ones who have bashed the deadline signing, willingness to keep BJS at 1B, willingness to play Meyers/Dubon/Whitcomb/Heyward.... all i'm willing to do is keep pushing positive output from this ballclub.
some idiot who's watched and supported this team as far back as I can remember Biggio catching in the 'dome... no one really.
