IF that were so, there wouldnt be a head coach. There would be an analyst taking the pulse of the stadium and making decisions based on that.

I cant think of any successful coach in any sport who did what the fans wanted even though he knew it to be a detriment to his team.

Can you give some examples of the fans demanding that an inferior player be given playing time over a competent starter? And please, try not to play the "Francis is fat!" card.

Look I’m a Francis fan and I would love to see him start or at least play :D . I don’t like Alston being the starting PG  . I understand you don’t want to lose James coming off the bench but WTF! Alston should be the 16th man! I mean come on coach give Francis a chance he can’t be any worse the Alston! He if he is still out of shape which i think he is in shape now coach just dosen't want to change his line up. ;) Or give Brooks a shot! Give anybody else a shot! I’m sorry but Alston should not be playing in the NBA he has had no offense but no he’s even worse than regular Alston. So is Head I don’t why Head is playing so crappy because this type of offense is what he played in collage! He only changed his game when he got to NBA and Van Gundy told him to sit at the 3 point line and jack them up. Alston should be at the end of the bench and Head should be the one in front of him. So in conclusion Francis and Brooks should get a chance and Synder should get a look over Head. ;)

Backup QB in about 25 of the 30 NFL stadiums just about every year.

You are all assuming that Francis is still the player he was when he was with Houston 4 years ago.

And that player still had decision making and turnover issues.

I think Adelman is proving a point to Steve. The one difference is that unlike JVG, it appears that Steve will get a chance at some point. The dog house under JVG is much different than Adelman's.

I'm not familiar with the NFL. Do fans chant for the players you're referring to? In these instances, is the starter constantly making mistakes? I'm just curious...

It should also be noted that you and your ilk are assuming Francis is a washed-up cripple. Until he's given a chance to play in a public setting, neither of us can say for sure who is right.

    All we are saying

Is give Steve (or Kirk, or AB, or the ball boy, or...)
    A chance.

(set to the music, Give Peace A Chance)

Actually, I would really like to see a little Brooks. If I were Adelman, I would play Steve some tonight. This controversy needs to be laid to rest.

Yeah. They also BOO the offense when they punt two possessions in a row. But fans are fickle, your QB could throw bad passes all day long, some for interceptions and you get booed. Then just at the end of the game when for some miraculous reason your team is still in it you could make some incredible play with your feet and score a touchdown to give your team the lead and you become some super hero or something.

I am not assuming Francis is a washed up cripple. I am assuming Francis isnt getting it done in practice(or hasnt up to this point). I know Francis has issues with turnovers and decision making. At least he has everywhere he has gone. While mental skills usually sharpen with age(and many turnovers could be considered mental) physical skills usually decline. I think a clone of Francis of 4 years ago probably would have seen the lineup. But the Francis now, perhaps a step slower, coupled with poor performance in practice hasnt made it yet.

I don't know why he is not playing. I do remember, though, that Adelman was not at the press conference where Francis' signing was announced.

    LOL.

Does anyone else appreciate the irony of rofflesaurus using every other post the last few days to tell people that Adelman knows more than they do, often in very large, bold lettering? :D

Sorry, dont watch much hoops but the Rockets anymore. Most of the time I saw crowds chanting in hoops games were during a blowout and they wanted the fan favorite 12th man to get into the game. If the coach puts him in, its not going to have an effect on the outcome of the game. So why not. You dont call for a sub in a highly contested game. And all the Rockets games this season have been contested down to the last minute.

Everyday I wonder what he has done to not get any PT, I mean he was not even dressed in NY. I was excited when we signed him now I am starting to just be pissed off.

Er, actually Francis has been injured. He was doing well in a backup role, but the games he started he really played poorly.

    Maybe his injury is legitimate?

Why is it every one who gets injured is faking?

As far as I know this one is legit. No reason to assume otherwise.

Poll was started in November before Francis was hurt and everyone was saying Adelman was being a punk and holding him back.
