I was going to vote for "Because of all the stupid Francis threads on Clutchfans". I may possibly be projecting my own feelings on the matter, however.

Francis never had as good of a team around him as McGrady has. He had a couple of years where Barkley and Olajuwon could give him 30 games a piece, and then a couple of years with Baby Ming.

you really think francis would have gotten us out of the first round against Dallas and Utah? i doubt we'd even get to a game 7 before we were eliminated.

People can badmouth Stevie all they want... fact is The Rox didnt tell him, "Hey Steve, we'd like to give you less $$$ than you could get elsewhere to sit on our bench as Raefer tosses up brick after freakin brick. " He was signed, history, knees, whatever as they are today. I seriously doubt he put on 50 lbs from the time he got signed to today.... which leaves 2 options A) The Rox didnt do their homework and properly evaluate Francis' current abilities or B) Adelman is an a$#%^&*(&*%# or an idiot! I'm leanin toward B, just based on the fact that Raefer is till pullin the minutes he is (regardless of Stevie, Raefer should be deadlast in the rotation behind MJ, Head and AB)

He's a heart breaker, a dream maker, a love taker.

Don't you mess around with me.

Tis better to give your all and fail for lack of talent than to choke it away for lack of heart.

Shooot. If you switch T-Mac for Steve in any of the teams that have been here in Houston since the trade, they go down in talent and ability every time. Now THIS team of 07-08 is the best team T-Mac has ever had. Its evidenced by the fact that the world champion Spurs could not salt it away until the final minute. And if Steve gets off his buttocks and puts the time in practice and keeps his head on straight he will get his chance to play. If he just sits overthere and expects to be handed playing time without working for it, he will continue to sit over there.

And I love how everyone continues to point to Rafer's percentages without realizing they went UP after this game. Thats what averages are, they go up and down alot especially during the first month of the season. Hmm, Shane Battier and Luther Head's 3 point percentage went up after this game too.

I have a feeling Steve francis will play tomorrow in back to back game against a run and gun team. We need the whole bench tomorrow. If Lakers can beat Pheonix, why cant we? It sucks to see Lakers have better record than us now.....Lakers are actually geling. Rockets every year go thru injuries and unfulfilled expectations. Season is still early, hope Rockets can eventually gel and play the way we expect them to play.

it's definitely not because he's out of shape or his attitude.
it's definitely because he's a bad fit for this team.

also, adelman being second guessed by the fans (chant) and reporters this early in the season did not help at all. that pretty much sealed the deal for francis.

I dunno, I think if I were Steve I would do whatever I could to help the team, and thus not be a bad fit. I think RA and Morey knew what Francis offered before they got him, so if he doesnt fit, why get him?

I know. So right. Man, you've really convinced me otherwise. I guess the fact sthat Bonzi is in better shape, doesn't constantly demand the ball, and stopped his whining don't really amount for anything.
At least when he falls, we don't see this:

Perhaps, FOFs, you should remove your nose from his donut-laden butt and realize that Stevie Franchise is GONE. Is NO MORE. The player we loved back then is aging, out of shape, and just as much of a self-centered superstar wannabe as he was when he first demanded his trade to Houston. Until he proves me wrong, and I hope he does, I not only hope he doesn't play a single minute, I want him off this team. Let the whiny baby go somewhere else. Somewhere like LA. Pair him with Kobe and Matrix. That team will burn faster than (tasteless joke).

I wonder what is the GM thinking right now. Obviously they made an effort to get SF, but he has not play a single minute in regular season. I hope it is not like the Vassilus Sponues (sp) type of situation. :(

    He is probably thinking:

"Steve, get off yer butt and work your way into the lineup!"

Absolutely pathetic that more than 50% of the people who have voted so far seriously think that Adelman hates Francis, and that's the only reason why he's not playing. I'm guessing they think this Francis right now could help this team. What utter BS.

How is it that so many people on this forum could be so myopic and misinformed?

You have to think SF3 is on his way out Dec. 15. His signing was a windfall, but it hasn't worked out like they hoped. They don't want to injure him or mess around with a team he won't be on before they trade him.

Mgmt surely sees the problem at pg and will try to get us at least a stopgap fix, like say Sam Cassell, from a team that has little to lose and can take a flyer on Steve.

Was I the only one who saw the Steve Francis promos before the season started about how he had a personal trainer that he worked with all summer to get his knee in shape and make sure he was in the best shape to start the seaons? Does anyone remember when the stations were running these clips to explain why he didn't work out with some of the guys in the summer?

PLEASE STOP THIS SMOKE SCREEN ABOUT STEVE NOT BEING IN SHAPE! He will definitely not be in "GAME SHAPE" if he EVER gets a chance from RA to play, because he has not seen any playing time and they don't really get to practice as much full court now that the season has begun. Any real player can tell you that no matter how much you run and exercise, you can't get into GAME shape and timing except but by PLAYING! Even Tmac will agree to this.

If RA has too much EGO because he feels the fans are trying to run his team, so he will NEVER play Steve, then fine...but at least BENCH Rafer and play Aaron Brooks and let him get some experience. At least he can beat his man off the dribble to penetrate the paint and now is the best three point shooter on our team..YES, I said the BEST...go and ask Matt Bullard and Steve Novak about it.

Whatever you decide RA, please BENCH Rafer for life! And people please stop saying he can "run" the offense. That only means he can bring the ball up the court and give it to Tmac or Yao to then disappear or miss a wide open three!
