You gotta ask Ryan Bowen about this one!

Why is Dirk so hard to guard? Because he's a 7 footer who shoots fadeways behind his head. There's no way in hell you can guard his shot by fronting him. You need two guys, one to front him and another to slap his ball from the behind.

Like I said, unnecessary. No need to be all defensive and insecure. If you can't handle criticism, you better shy away from BBS's.

Right, keep posting things completely irrelevant to the thread topic after chastising me for posting something you deemed unnecessary despite the fact that it was perfectly acceptable and, if nothing else, on topic.

    Speaking of on topic...

Dirk has long strides and long arms. The result is that when he pump fakes on the perimeter, quick players aren't big enough to bother his shot, but bigger players aren't fast enough to make up the same amount of ground that he does. His shot also uses very little elevation, a la Sam Perkins, so late in the game you're not going to see him missing shots due to fatigue. That's obviously a big key in close games down the stretch. He can handle the ball full court like few guys his size, and he shoots the pull up 3 about as well as anybody in the league, regardless of size. If the guy gets a good base on his jumper, it's probably going in, and when he doesn't get a good base it's probably going in anyway. Like I said before, he hits some of the toughest off balance/awkward shots of anybody in the league, especially for his size. He's simply an anomaly.

THIS is what gets to me:

    The WHINING
    The FLOPPING

    and this kind of stuff...

Put that tongue back in your mouth, ya b*stard.

I don't understand how Avery can complain about him not getting calls...considering he's the most disciplined flopper in the league...

The thing that makes Dirk so tough to guard is that he's a 7 foot gunner. He's probably the best shooter in the NBA, and the 7 foot height with fadeaways means his shot is damn-near impossible to stop or hinder. Most 7-footers aren't going to want to run the perimeter trying to guard him and most 6'-8" guys can't get up in his face to bother the shot. He's a flat-out lethal package.

... and no, he's not as good as Larry Bird was. ;)

Wow. Dirk is good because of the likes of John Terry? Did you see Terry at his previous stops? He did nothing except score meaningless points.

Actually, I probably had the Chelsea central defender on the brain, not the former presidential candidate.

He is hard to defend, but what happened a few years ago when T-Mac shut him down in the 04-05 playoffs, and held him to like 30% shooting? Why didnt he defend Dirk in the game against the Mavs, he could have at least stopped him from scoring 30.

Exactly. Who does Dallas have that was any good before they got there? Terry's shooting percentages were not that great before he got to Dallas. All-star talent? Good one. He's the MVP and it's not real close.

    Dirk listens to Hasslhof songs...

I bet if Yao stops listening to Rap and follow Pu$$y cat Dolls, he will become deadly through the eye..

Dirk is a pu$$y, Yao will eat him up when playoff comes.

Dude, give it a rest. I'm saying your theatrics are unnecessary because they don't help make your point. I'm also saying that you have some seriously problems accepting criticism. You feel my posts in this thread are extraneous to the thread topic. That's fine with me. Our points are quite unrelated. There's nothing to argue about.
