Alot of people felt the same way you did about Keaton. He was kind of forgettable as Bruce Wayne, but his Batman . . .was something else. His shadowy appearance and cold silence combined with quite possibly one of most intimidating voices in cinematic, outside of Darth Vader.

Roles that shouldn't of been there's:

Jessica Alba: Sue Storm (Not to sound like a racist or anything, but shouldn't they have used someone who looked somewhat like the character, blonde hair and blue eyes. Also is that hard to find a blondie out there who is better actress than Jessica Alba).

Will Smith: Chris Gardner and Hancock
(Will Smith is a good leading actor, but I thought they could've found someone who act and somewhat resembled the real Gardner. Hancock ... they should've used someone who is a little more edgier...Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, or Billy Bob Thornton ... he was supposed to be this uncouth homeless guy (superhero) who probably will tell an 4 year old kid off. In both movies, Smith just looked to clean to be a homeless guy or someone who is supposed to be over-the-hill.

Jaden Smith: Pretty much any starring role he's had
(They really could not have found a better actor or Will Smith really had to have his son in the movie).

James Marsden as Cyclops, Halle Berry as Storm (If the Cyclops and Storm from the X-Men movies were to replace the comic versions of the characters . . . those characters would've been killed off after two issues.

John Wayne as Genghis Khan . .. need I say more.

The three new actors who replaced Austin St. John, Thuy Tran, and Walter Jones in Power Rangers They were most flat, wooden characters I've ever seen on a popular television show. Cheap ass, Saban did not want to pay them, as they all made next nothing in the original Power Rangers. Even though, those three were really popular at the time.

Pumpkinhead=A guy in suit, they clearly should've given Tila Tequilla a call for the sequels.

No he turned out great since he is a great actor and bulked up tremendously for the role, but my point is wolverine is a rugged character which doesnt fit any roles jackman acted in the past. I mean he was doing that musical before he got casted and had to change himself completely for this role.

His acting in AOTC was like a rollercoaster, but in his defense he was given a lot of cheesy lines. "I wish I could wish away my feelings" WTF was that?!

But he really grew into his role in ROTS, I thought...same for Ewan...he got progressively better in the series.

I think just about any casting choice for the Schumacher Batman movies are head scratchers .... Arnold as Freeze? Uma as Ivy? Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face?

Heath Ledger as the Joker...did anyone see that performance coming from him?

I think many people weren't quite sold on Brandon Routh as Superman, but I thought he did just fine after seeing the movie.

All good points, Routh looked the part but I was skeptical about someone with sooooo little acting in his background. I think Singer tried to protect him way to much in the movie and thus killed any chemistry that could have been developed.

Hayden I thought was horrible in ATOC and while better in ROTS, the end was his best moments as unmasked Darth Vader, still was way to stiff but I'll blame Lucas for that so i'll cut him some slack. I thought McGregor was the highlight of the new trilogy, dude can act and was everything I imagined a young Obi-Won would be.

Bradley Cooper in anything. I don't see the draw.

Russell Brand in anything. I also don't see the draw there.

Liam Neeson in Taken. He's so -not- badass.

Gerard Butler in a lot of stuff other than 300. This week he's a lead in a chick flick, the next he's an action star. The week after that, he's a vengeful father. What is he?

A ton of the casting in Wolverine. The people who played Gambit, Sabertooth, Silver Fox, for starters. It was horrible but good acting all around would have helped.

    Wow could not disagree more...

Batman Begins, Kingdom of Heaven, Gangs of New York, Darkman ...he can play the role quite well.

I thought the kid did a decent job as Superman and Clark Kent. He sort of made Clark Kent, his own, as his version is not quite as bumbling and goofy (intentionally exaggerated by Superman - see Kill Bill Vol. 2, Tarantino pointed it out perfectly as David Carradine's character described ). Back on topic, Routh's Kent is kind of stand-offish, but an active listener and observer.

I have to mention this one, but some are going to disagree ... George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton were not that bad as Bonds.

It's funny, both actors often got criticized for Craig's Bond is often praised for, just being down-right b@stard, especially Dalton. Lazenby caught the role at the wrong time, it was his first role and he was following Sean Connery. He probably wouldn't have been as criticized, if he took the role later on, like after Diamonds are Forever or Live and Let Die.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064757/trivia (Scroll Down that list to see the other choices, that job had to be taken by unknown actor...I know most execs would not dare do that nowadays, but some roles, like Superman, sometimes requires an unknown actor or a new face that closely resembles the character or fits to the tone of the story).

As far as Dalton, I really cannot put my finger on it, the series was just getting too old formulaic, but his movies and Bond style actually have their own touch to them. Between him in Moore it is more personally choice, if you like adventure and cartoony ... you go Moore, if you like a little more realism (a little less nonsense) and violent death scenes with a peek of a boobies (in The Living Daylights), you choose Dalton.

So.... you're basically saying you don't know how casting directors and producers have the foresight to successfully place actors in roles outside of their comfort zones?

No i am saying surely there are better actors at the time for that role although it turned out great. I am not a huge movie buff so i personally cant name any person.

See my example, Before watching the movie I said to myself Robert Downy Jr and Toby Mcguiare are great casts for iron man and spider man, they fit the role perfectly as themselves - it was very believable before I even watched the movie

    Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble.

By Far, and I mean BY FAR the worst casting choice in Cinematic history (Rick Moranis as Barney wasn't much better.)

Betty Rubble was a sensuous piece of prehistoric ass, a real sabre-toothed cougar.

Rosie O'Donnell is fat, bald, and anti-cromulent. I see no reason why she should be allowed to continue living. She should be executed immediately for crimes against humanity and her ashes should be jettisoned to outer space where only the occasional wandering asteroid would have a prayer of coming within light years of such a treacherous w****.

I cannot even begin to tell you the dreams of so many little boys that were crushed that day when they saw the buxom Betty Rubble looking like she just polished off a couple of water buffalo. It probably ruined many a childhood.

I actually thought the same thing when I saw the previews for Taken, but I thought he did a good job in that role.

American Psycho showed that Christian Bale was perfect for Bruce Wayne.

You're not a chick. No homo, but that dude is probably physically the antithesis of your typical male clutchfans member.

Acting wise, he's pretty decent in the few movies I seen him in. Was believable as the ******* in Wedding Crashers, and as the alpha male dude in the The Hangover.
