Share your thoughts on some of the actors that really didnt fit thier role.

    Let me start

Were the producers/director on crack when they cast michael keaton in the movie batman? That was a terrible choice. Personally, I am not even a big fan of christian bale as batman since he doesnt come across as bruce wayne to me but I have to admit his acting skills definitely makes up for it.

hugh jackman in X-men is also a bit of head scratcher.

More will come to me in due time...

PERFECT call. He didn't bother me, but he was so out of place it was distracting.

I'm sure many questioned the casting choice before they actually saw the movie. But I think the majority of folks agree Micheal Keaton was a solid Batman. It's like Die Hard...how many people actually believed before the movie that a former Moonlighting actor would find success as an action star...but that worked out pretty good.

And Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was just about perfect.

Now if you had said perhaps Kirsten Dunst as MJ, you might be on to something. She wasn't a completely bad choice, but there were much better options out there. After seeing Wedding Crashers, I became convinced that Rachel McAdams would have been perfect as Mary Jane...oh well.

And forget Michael Keaton...the real travesty was George Clooney as the caped crusader.

Jake Lloyd as Anakin...but that's a whole other can of worms.

    Christian Bale - Terminator Salvation

I know a few people that would say Tom Hanks - Da Vinci Code

I could take Jake Lloyd. Hayden Christensen, on the other hand, was painful to watch. You know a performance is terrible when I would actually prefer Ryan Phillippe or Paul Walker. I mean, that's some BAD acting.

I am more referring to the look of the actor and background of the actor vs the way the comic book hero was previously portrayed.

For example, I think Robert and Toby are great casts even before they acted in the movie iron man and spider man. Lets say you had christian bale as spider man, i dont think he fits the role as well as toby.

(Obviously, these are all great actors that can change themselves to fit the role - i am not critquing the acting, merely questioning why there were cast in the first place)

In Cage's defense, this line was uttered by the equally terrible John Travolta.

How about Kevin Costner as Robin Hood? That was a head-scratcher...

Each his own so no disrespect but I disagree, Keaton was an odd choice that turned out great. Who knew he could pull off a dark and brooding superhero. Jackman was perfect for Wolverine, the problem has been the story lines they have put together for him.

My choice was Bale in Terminator like mentioned above, I was pretty pumped for Salvation and while I actually didn't completely dislike the movie Bale seemed out of place in that one.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Ben Kingsley in Prince of Persia. I can't remember a trailer that was harder to watch.

Bad casting decisions in good movies, or bad decisions that are a part of a bad film altogether?

Topher Grace as Venom for one, but that movie as a whole was not good.
