I guess the whole "role" part comes from Tjones/Dmo actually being healthy. Last year he filled in because of injuries but DMO will start, Tjones will probably get the minutes behind him and PF where does that leave Josh?

what's the most the clipps could offer him? can't say i'm not pissed about this…..smith is an immensely better defender on the elite PF's than jones/dmo

That is genuinely saddening. He was awesome here.

I don't get it... why would he want to play behind Blake Griffin?

Probably better than fighting for playing time behind dmo and jones.

Sucks but i can see why. There was a log jam at the 4 spot

Yeah, but T-Jones would've almost certainly been traded had Smith resigned. We need help in the backcourt and there's no way T-Jones is the Rockets' long-term plans beyond this season. And unlike Griffin who's a 35-40 minute a night player, D-Mo would've maybe played 25-30 minutes most games. Plus Dwight may sit out the occasional game because of his knee.

The playing time would've been far more plentiful here. This has gotta be about money.

With Josh Smith out of the way, the Rockets can get down to business and sign Carlos Boozer and Chuck Hayes! :-/ oof

Both DMO and TJ will be RFAs next year. No way both stay. And if the Rockets have to move one, PF spot gets dicey.

Morey has moves to make for sure.

D-Mo would be filling in at center... that would give Smith more time at the 4.

And Jones would not play much.

But I thought he was besties with Dwight?

Please don't tell me he was concerned about TJ or Donuts..something doesn't make sense.

Yep, yet another negative with the loss of Smith. Not that I was happy with him being our 2nd best playmaker, but bottom line is he was the main facilitator off the bench and now he's gone. And hell, we technically haven't even resigned Terry yet. We've got one PG on the roster who isn't even a real PG and one playmaker in Harden. And now T-Jones is harder to trade with the loss of Smith. Good luck with that mess, Daryl.
