Keith Bogans is a nice solid defender for the Bulls, thats why I think Martin had an off night, but I do agree with you, if this guy shoots more he should be #1 in PPG. The way he draws fouls should make him #1 in the scoring leaders stats if he were to shoot a bit more like Kobe.
I know Lee is technically Martin's replacement when Martin isn't playing.... But it would seem to make sense to have Lee and Martin on the floor together during stretches. This way Lee's defense can compensate for Martin's lackluster defense, and Martin can just focus on scoring...
yeah!! i thought k-mart was a "volume" scorer. aren't "volume" scorers supposed to take a bunch of shots? also, i don't recall anyone beoching about she-mac jackin up a bunch of shots. we were just sick of his lack of effort and decline in athleticism (which effected his J.) good thread. give K-mart the ball, let him shoot. eventually, he will catch fire.
I've noticed Martin is always set up on the weak side in the 4th. PG will bring the ball up and swing to Battier and/or feed Yao/Scola (strong post). Anyone else notice this? Shouldn't Martin play on the strong side to get those extra touches? Or is Battier's ability to pass into the post that excellent? I'd prefer to see Martin on the same side as Yao/Scola and have Battier get fewer touches.
That's why we put the ball in brooks' or yao's hands, yao can find the shooter, or brooks can penetrate and score from any angle
at this point he really is, kevin martin scores alot in 3 quarters then disappears. Even though AB cant consistently take over 4th quarters at least hes not afraid to shoot the ball in crunch time

People talk about bad contracts all the time like zomg! Okafor is a bad contract: do not want. Really? Okafor? One of the best defenders in the League. Let me tell you this: Kevin Martin is turning out to be a bad contract. We have to pays this dude $23 million for two more years. Is this what it feels like to be a Clippers fan?
That's been obvious, martin can't score off the dribble the way brooks does that's why he's useless in the 4th quarter because refs's tend to swallow the whistle more. Suprised so many would trade him over martin, he far from a first option player that's why kings traded him over evans.
People need to accept Martin for what he is -- a good player who is probably a 2nd or 3rd option on a legit contender. He is NOT a superstar player, he can't take over a game in the 4th because he can't handle pressure defense or double teams.
exactly, I think he needs a better passer than either lowry or brooks, maybe try him in the 4th with Ish Smith. Not just that but he needs everyone to be in the right spots, if someone is standing in the wrong spot, then his lanes get clogged and he can't do anything. Basically he's the Yao Ming of guards, he needs the team to do a ton of work to get him the ball in the right spot, he's pretty good if you do it, but useless if you can't.
