yeah, but they're not sure what to do about one that isn't glued to the floor.

isiah's team not liking someone might be a good sign.

He can defend and rebound in space.

Maybe that's an indication that he's not a power forward. ;)

It could also be that they like him, and therefore want to lower his stock with misinformation.

When was a last time any team came out and said they loved a player following a workout? I mean sincerely say how they feel about certain players? Those kind of information are considered classified by teams so as not to break their "cover".

So I will call this a smoke screen.

I have seen enough of Hakim to know and affirm that he will be a legit pro in the NBA. Many knocked Shawn Marion for the exact same thing when he came out some years back and the rest is history. Tayshawn was knocked for lack of bulk and his deliberacy in his shooting and shooting form.

But no one can really measure heart and college success folk like Hakim has enjoy is no fluke. I am inclined to believe he will be gone by the 24th pick but if he were to be available I'd take him.

Warrick won't be available at #24 so don't worry. This guy has enough athleticism and potential to be a lottery pick, but he will most likely go between #14-#18.

Worst case scenario,Warrick becomes an Eric Williams type.
But he has the upside to be much more.Either way,a team probably won't regret taking him in the middle of the first. While Peter is only 6'8",he's got that nice reach.I think he may be able to work on the blocks as well as guard some of those big 3's.

well i can't speak for everyone but warrick reminds me a lot of shawn marion minus the long range jumper. he may be thin but he's an elite athlete who has a good basketball IQ and can flat out play. he's a great defender and rebounder which is something the rockets desperately need. no he's not a PF but if he's available and all other good PF's are gone you have to take him. his an impact player who can help right away. his youth, athleticism, and defensive ability are all needs on this team.

I think if we were able to get Warrick, we'd also have to try really hard to get D. Marshall in free agency. Warrick will only be able to play the 4 in a small ball lineup. As a 3, you have to have a PF with range to compensate (i.e. - Marshalll).

This would be an interesting lineup though:

    Yao
    Marshall
    Warrick
    McGrady
    Sura or James

Right on. Marshall is really the forward I want the most, but he'll only give 1 or 2 years of solid production... He and Warrick next to Yao is definitely interesting, but I really doubt it beats S.A. without a pretty damn good PG.

that's the problem with marshall. he'll give you 2 years of very good production but he'll want a 5,6 year contract worth a lot of cash and he's not worth it considering he can't play D and is an above average rebounder. we really wouldn't get much more out of him than we can with juwan howard, so what's the point???

According to CBA rules any contract past a players 36 birthday is prorated over the years before he is 36. Therefore if he got a 6 year deal 2 of those year would be past 36 and would count against the cap the first 4 years. The purpose of this is stop contracts at age 36. Marshall will only get a 4 year deal just like B Barry got a 4 year deal at 32 last year.

It would be a dream in Warrick fell down to us. He isn't the most polished player out there, he is far from it, but JVG would be able to do wonders with him on defense, and he has good enough athletic ability to rebound well and score when needed.

I'm beginning to warm up to the idea of Warrick. He is a crazy athlete and if there is any coach that can teach him to defend, it's Van Gundy. I don't think he is a 4 though. I think he is a big 3, would be a good matchup against players like Marion, etc. Still not convinced he's got enough offensive game to be anything but a designated defender on the bench.

Ok...if you're not Hakim's agent already, he really needs to sign you up.

I could see the Rox trying to move up to get this guy. His athletic ability alone is something JVG must be drooling over. I can see him becoming a Prince/Marion type player, but only if he can improve his shooting, but like Jayz said, Marion came in a 18% 3-Pt shooter.
