Steve Francis had a great Game in Game Two!
But his job at the Position of Point Guard is to make his Team better .The Team LOST! Francis is a great Player but not a good Point Guard.

Theres no need to BASH SF. He played a very controlled game and with a few exceptions of a couple of shots. But overall I was pretty much impressed by his performance. If he'd played like this most of the games on the regular season we'd would have been 4th/5th seed instead of 7th.

We lost game 2 because the Lakers role players(Hareem Rush & Derek Fisher) stepped up, ours didnt even show up for the game.

Francis can only do so much. He did everything he could in Game 2. It's not his fault Yao had a disapearing act in the 2nd half

And Yao's job at the position of center is to rebound and block shots.

    4 rebs
    1 block

    The team LOST

guys when will you actually admit that lakers are a better team and that to beat them we have got to play over our heads? the fact that both games were close (that fourth quarter doesn't really count, its easy to shoot a 3 when you're up 10 points) is a testament to this team stepping up in general but stevie in particular. about the 3s, on atleast one of those steve had to ag because mjackson let his man get into the lane.

So every good point guards' team goes undefeated. The only thing that isn't good is your logic.

He only criticizes anti-Steve posts. But I mean someone needs to defend Steve... it's just too bad it's eating up all of his posts.

Is this a hybrid between Hakeem and Kareem? That would be the best player ever.:p

His playoff performances have given me hope.

I'd be inclined to keep him if we shipped off Mobley.

Francis is not a SG, but he's not a PG. He is equally capable at playing both. However, I think it's more important to have a PG with him in the backcourt than a SG.

Cat doesn't do anything that JJ or Francis can't do, while a PG would bring a whole new set of capabilities to this team.

Bring in a PG to feed Yao, and feed Francis whenever he can't create his own shot.

I would advise the Rockets to trade Cat for the pG, and instruct Steve to work hard at improving his SG skills in the summer. Him, JJ and Pike can handle all 48 minutes at SG.

Well Yao's Job as a center is to get rebounds and he gave up the biggest offensive rebound of the season to shaq in game one. Yao the Center is not having a good season.

Yao the Center is not having a good season.

Hopefully, you meant that he's not having a good "series", rather than "season". Yao will be on the all NBA team, something that no Rocket has done since Hakeem in '98-'99. Saying that he didn't have a good season would be silly.

As someone who pretty much lost all hope Francis would adapt I may be headed in a different direction. There have been some good signs the last few weeks.

Basically I think we should entertain the best possible offers for SF and CM and see what happens. I do think the back-court needs to be broken up because neither is the steady organizer with a vision of how plays will develop, but I am starting to think it need not HAVE to be SF..

I still like something like a SF for Brand type deal of realistic scenarios, but I would not trade Steve for much less. If a good deal isn't out there that in some way really strengthens the Rockets starting line up (like nailing down a quality 4 with 8 10 years left), look to move Mobley with the trade exemption.

Center are different. Malgorie made the all-star game. Heck, Ben Wallace has been in all NBA team for many years and I do not consider him as a great player at all.

Last time I checked, every team needs a center to be able to stay in NBA. That's why none of all NBA team in the history contains of 5 guards. You compare center to center to see if he's a good center or good player. Your logic is like saying that you beat a tennis champion in chess and beat a chess champion in tennis, then claim you better than both of them.

I think you missed my point. I am not saying Brady QB of NE should be the in All-NBA team instead of Yao.

My point is that you need centers in the all-NBA/All-star team and there are just so few good centers right now. So, some marginally good ones get selected into these teams.

Lets put it this way. There are 15 players in all_NBA teams. Is yao/Wallace a top 15 player right now????

I would not give with five guard, but I would certainly take Amare/Brand over Malgorie/Wallace/Brad Miller any day.
