The only thing that will keep Howard here would be the chance to win a ring. It is the reason he wanted out of Orlando and if we actually trade for Howard, we will essentially be swapping out a lot of our promising core players and draft picks for Orlando's bad contracts.

Will Lin and Montejunas make THAT big of difference that Howard will think he will have a better chance with the core group that could only barely be middle of the pack in the easier Eastern Conference transferred to the more difficult Western conference?

Ok lets see, somebody makes a thread pointing how Lin's signing isnt going to work you say "another one of these threads (roll eyes)". But this obviously ridiculous thread gets prais??? Hypocrisy

Howard wants to play for a CONTENDER. With this roster and considering what we're giving up, we won't win 35 games. Lmao. And you think he's coming back THIS poor collection of talent? Who's gonna be the best player besides Howard? Kevin Mchale?

To clarify,@DwightHoward still Brooklyn-or-bust in-season or when free in 2013-14. ‪#Rockets‬ likeliest to RENT, turn him into asset either way.

so "Brooklyn-or-bust" in 2013-14 offseason would mean what?
That he signs with Brooklyn for 3 years at taxpayer midlevel, until they can give him max?

Time for some realism coach. People have given valid reasons for DH to resign with Houston. Now I know there really is not a lot of evidence on the "he won't resign" side, but offering an opinion is a weak weak argument. There is nothing but innuendo and hearsay to support you.

I already Googled it thank you

And what I found was that Houston is not a small market, Houston is top 10 in every available metric.

If you have found different, show us some linkage hoss.

If you show me some linkage other than a smart ass Googler link, I'll show you mine made right here on this board.

I guess you must have lost track of the coversation at some point. At no point did I say houston was a small market. If you think I did, I'd like you to quote the text where you think I said it. I am assuming you are simply too busy doing your admin dutys to have fully read the thread before commenting.

OreMLK said that none of the other potential markets where Howard could go as a free agent were larger than Houston.

My only comment was that technically, Dallas is a larger media market than Houston. If you believe this statement is factually incorrect, I'd love to see your numbers. People jumped all over me for that statement, and brough up all sorts of things irrelevant to media market size, like shoe sales in China. It is reasonably clear to me that a number of people commenting on media market size, don't understand what a media market is. Ridiculing that is, IMO, perfectly reasonable, unless you are in favor.of the propigation of ignorance.

It is simply a statement if fact. No need to get combatative, hoss. Especially when it seems you don't even understand what the point of contention is before doing so.

Not being combative at all, hoss is a term I use sometimes when talking, I slip back into Texan-speak.

and yes, I did in fact reply without full context, my bad...I was in a hurry and I should know better than to open mouth without knowing all the facts.

I dont argue that there are places that are larger than Houston, but as was pointed out the difference in media market sizes between Houston and Dallas isnt very big. They are 5th and we are 10th in tv market, but if you check the numbers it isnt a big difference.

Lebron, Bosh and Wade all took 2 mil (so about 12.3 over the life of the contract) to free up space for Mark Miller.

I think it delusional for posters to think howard will resign with houston cause he won't have a choice. If a team he likes can sign him outright, why should he sign with houston. No team could pay lbj as much as cleveland, but in the end he left. Trugoy those valuable doesn't mean crap when u lose the best player in basketball in his absolute prime. I dunno if u followed the rockets in the 80 when moses left, but it sucked. The best consolation was we got ralph then dream. Coming out of college, there are no ralphs and damn ain't no hakeems coming out. The best big, davis, couldn't hold sampson jock. Irving, last yrs #1 can't even spell lebron.
