I want Cousins as a PF on this team...I feel like he can develop into a prime Z-Bo, and also can be C. If he was available I would give everyone, but Harden and Howard for him.
I think that Cousins is the obvious choice going forward in terms of staying young and healthy. Dwight still has at least a couple of years left before his athleticism declines enough to become virtually ineffectual. I'm perfectly content with staying with Dwight until that happens. Hell, if Dwight starts declining I would love to find a way to replace the starting position but keep Howard as the reserve center. I honestly love Howard on this team. I want him to win a championship here as the Htown duo and I want him to retire here.
Do you really wanna take the chance to piss off an already sensitive, passive-aggressive like Howard. He gets wind of this and he'll take the player option next year and play like he dont give a fauk.
These are all in the Rockets court, if they want they can let Brew Smith and Bev go for whoever they want. In the case of a trade scenario, you will need the Sacramento Kings to agree and why the **** will they trade a younger, healthier Cousins for 30 year old Howard? Even if you add DMo and Tjones and how mahy picks you want, if you are Sacramento will you accept this poo poo platter? Esp. if the Kings aren't even up for contention so Howard will defintiely leave as soon as his deal expires in a couple of years? The other poster is right, before you make this thread find some way to get the Sac GM and owners to eat some stupid pills because otherwise this **** isn't happening except in your NBA 2K save file.
Kings are so dumb, why wouldn't they trade superstar not even in his prime yet into superstar past his prime, who spends most of the time injured, has worse stats all over the categories list and is only better at defense... For a year or two more.
I thought you were a big advocate of chemistry? We already know that playoff Howard fits well with this group. Since you feel he is better, how much better and is that enough to risk the team imploding based on his history? Risk to rewards my friend.
Max contracts are generally good values because the "max" artificially limits the amount from the true market price. However, Howard at 21M is a bit too high in terms of what he brings to the team. Much cheaper alternatives that are better values in terms of dollar per production are available. There are plenty of reasonable scenarios of trading Howard. But none of them will happen because it's just bad business trading a star player you just lured to sign with you like that. Besides, there is a very good possibility that Morey and his agent has some agreement on this matter as it was revealed in the act of releasing Parsons's contract.
Yeah. If I had Cousins I wouldn't trade him for Howard. I'm also Howards #1 fan by what it seems on this forum. At this point it would be like trading LeBron for Anthony Davis in terms of potential to win a championship. LeBron brings excellence to a team and gives virtually any team a better chance to win a championship but Anthony Davis will bring superstar caliber production for years to come (my prediction is that the dude will achieve a quadruple double by the time his career is done). This doesn't take credit away from LeBron bringing what it takes to win a championship to that team. Howard brings everything we need at the center position. In no way, shape, or form am I not satisfied with Howard at the center spot. I'd like to improve other areas of the roster because we are just fine at that spot for the next couple years
I love Cousins' talent but I always wonder how effective he really is. I mean, his team is always awful and he's a career 46% shooting center. That's pretty bad.
You do realize all of your points about how cousins is better is the reason Sacramento won't trade him, right?
