Why don't the Rockets get any love for basically sweeping the Spurs this season (3-0 this season)

The Spurs has proven that they are a different beast in the playoffs over the years.

The Spurs never get grief for getting blown out in the regular season because their reputation is that they cruise through the regular season, take games off here and there, and then get serious in the playoffs. It's nice that the Rockets have done well against them but it means nothing until they do it in the playoffs.

If we had Putin, maybe we could just go annex Durant away from the Thunder.

Because we are the Houston Rockets.

Never forget that. ESPN will only talk about us when they have to.

Enough people have pointed out that the regular season doesn't meant squat when it comes to great teams in the playoffs, but here's another point:

We haven't actually swept the Spurs!

3-0 is nice, but only 3 teams have actually swept the Spurs in the last 16 years, since Timmy joined them. OKC actually accomplished this goal.

There's another game to go, folks

Um, cause we can't beat the Clippers, and we aren't the #1 seed.

It's hard for the Rockets to get love for beating the team that is themselves getting no love for having the best record in the NBA.

I get that they up the level of intensity for the playoffs, but I still feel optimistic about that match up. I mean they didn't exactly take the games off when the Rockets played them did they? In any case, I guess we'll see.

The Spurs are beyond proven in the playoffs. What you do against them in the regular season is fairly meaningless.

    First: It's the regular season.

Two: It will be more glorified once we face them in the second round.

Third: Since when do people talk about us and is this the first time it has annoyed you?

I can't remember. Did the Spurs have all their star players playing when we beat them?

Hell, who cares what they say actually. Half the regulars here know more than espn/tnt will ever know.

    So....

    Cheers! & Rockets!

They usually had one or two main players out of the rotation, like Ginobili, Danny Green, or Kawai Leonard. We never beat a fully healthy Spurs team. Word around the NBA is Parker is out with injury. If so ... I like our chances when P-Bev injures him some more ;)

A simple "because it's the regular season" would have been sufficient OMR...

But at least you didn't bring up that the Clippers aren't crying about getting no credit for beating the Rockets all year long.

Skip bayless has. He said the rockets scare him versus "his" spurs and have already beaten them three times. Once without harden.

Didn't you hear? The rockets won't get past Portland in the first round.
