Its a shame you had to ruin a perfectly good discussion by resorting to 3rd-grade insults like "dufus" and laughing at my points rather than addressing them. But apart from that your arguments are intellectual and well formed. Congratulations.
Damn man...when can I get to do that to my students? FT--"Take out a pencil" Student "I don't have one" FT--"ZAAAPP"
Oh my goodness, that was one of the best clips I have ever seen!! That bitc! had such an attitude, but that sure changed quick after getting TASED!! What's great about the clip is that the officer was *very* professional, and did everything by the book. That girl was warned multiple times before she got hers. Guess she wasn't as tough as she thought, judging by the incessant crying and screaming after the tasing. Classic. That attitude that she displayed is highly pervasive today and is so incredibly disgusting. A friend of mine is a waitress and has to deal with people who are exactly like her fairly often. She can't stand them (and guess what -- they don't tip).
That's not a good point, man. Like a simple "Officer, I have a heart condition. I must be disrespectful to you" would have prevented this, huh? "OK... i've asked you twice... i'm not going to ask you again..." "i am on the phone! I am calling someon..." ZZZZZ-p!BZZZ! "Aaaaaaa!!!! oooOoooWWW!!!!" POST-TAZED DUMMY: "oooooo... owwww... oooooo... owww..." <- sounds like pR0N... Call me MACABRE, call me a SADIST, but you #@(#^$(^%#'cking respect OFFICERS or else, BIZNATCH!!!! Thanks, man, I needed that laugh.
Well if she had a heart problem, then all she had to do was comply with the officer when he said, "Get out of the car or I'm going to taze you!" (several times). of course, she should comply whether she had a heart condition or not. And for those of you who say that this may not have been taze-worthy.... Officer's options: A) physically remove her from the car without tazing. This would probably involve her flailing and punching at the officer. He may be bitten, scratched, punched. She may have aids and if they both spill blood in the struggle, he may be in danger of getting it. She may try to drive off while he's half-in the car trying to remove her. She may have weapons in the car. And there's always the chance that she'll go for the officer's gun. This is a very, very dangerous situation for the officer. B) taze the woman and remove her from the car. This dramatically reduces the risk of the woman getting injured or the officer getting injured. By far, the tazer option is the best solution.
If you listen closely at the end of the video, when they are out of frame to the left, getting into the car.. she is still appearantly resisting it. They are saying things like "Get into the car ma'am." And then I hear him say, "Okay, then we'll just do it this way." And then you hear a discussion between the two officers on who will "get her feet." Then they "thank" her for getting in. Also, the officer clearly spells out EXACTLY what had gone on in the video prior to getting her to her feet... mind you without watching it first, it is still rolling... and he is clearly right in his recap of actual events, which she repeatedly denies and says "You're lying." Guilty on all four mentioned counts, as well as the 2 or 3 extras she committed during the video. Case closed, your honor. Astounding.
There is an underlying issue here, too: Police are to be taken seriously. Officers cannot allow people to "make calls" to others. In fact, they cannot allow people to disobey the officer's commands in any way. Officers must enforce all of their commands. If they do not make those enforcements, then people (like this woman) will just continue to push limits and push buttons in efforts to break down the police authority.
That was a good laugh to start my day off. You can't win an argument with the cops. That's what the courts are for.
Sorry man, the only reason I used dufus is b/c you made some opinion about your stance without even knowing the situation...you're basically arguing about a point you have no information about, which is ridiculous. It's like you see police have to use force and regardless of the situation it's extreme to you. How the hell can they have no 'huge' reason to get her out of her car when they are arresting her? I don't know why you take insult to me laughing about your point when your point is 1. uninformed 2. completely ambiguous without any real alternative given 3. seems biased against American officers. You might has well just say "I don't like cops, I hate when they have to do their jobs." LOL, and I love how you had to pull the racial-relations card. Honestly, did you understand the situation or are you just try to play devil's advocate? Again, instead of trying to critique my post, how about you answer the question about the alternative you so valiantly claim there is.
All police who use tazers have been tazered themselves, so they know exactly how it feels and what they are doing. They have also been sprayed with pepper spray or mace depending on which one they carry. The bottom line is when an officer asks you to do something you do it. The cameras in the car are there for a reason so if they do anything out of line they will be disciplined, this officer was MORE THEN PATIENT and I'm happy to know that officers such as him are out there protecting asses such as her.
I bet she doesn't. She's an idiot. And idiots like that, who have that much attitude, don't learn so easily.
What they did was legal. You can get arrested for any offense, including speeding, and being that she was acting ornery, the cops had enough to arrest her and use force to do it as it was seemingly necessary. What troubles me is the amount of pleasure people are getting out of this. Police work is tough as hell when you deal with difficult people, and no-one should be getting pleasure out of harming someone, even if necessary (and even if you think its not as bad as pepper spray). Those officers did something that had to be done, and you could tell they were pros about it.
You know, it's just never a good idea to ask a policeman for his "badge number". That usually the first indication to the policeman that he is dealing with a dimwit. What was she going to do, sue the police for pulling her over?
Drunk or sober or somewhere in between, it's never a good idea to mouth off to a police officer. Now Constables....those idiots are a whole other story!!!
This woman was annoying and uncooperative, but she didn't seem as belligerent as people's posts are making her out to be. I have no problem with her being tazed because she wasn't doing as she was told, but I don't feel she's necessarily some scourge. I dislike having to deal with the cops and I've felt they treated me unfairly several times in the past, but I am still respectful towards them. The police have a lot of responsibility and are thusly given plenty of power. Anything other than cooperation is going to get you arrested, and jail is far worse than any sort of hurt feelings you may receive. Some cops are less reasonable than others, but a little courtesy ensures that your cop experience will be as quick and painless as possible.
