And people laugh at me when I said the Rockets should go after Eric Dampier.

Everyone keeps saying that about the rehab. How do we know what exactly was wrong with McGrady. If it took nine months then maybe it wasn't a minor surgery regardless of what they said. And considering it was his first surgery of his career he probably wasn't use 2 it and underestimated the healing time.

Here is the deal. Some fans want the rockets to do well, but want Yao or Tracy to be responsible for the success. Some think the rockets were a scrub organization before Yao and Mcgrady. The guys that have been rocket fans for awhile, they don't care who do what as long as the team win. We've shown in the past the team can win without Yao. This yr with artest and wafer, we have shown we can win minus tracy. So winning regular season game isn't the issue, but post season is different.

Tracy has the 1st rd stigma, but it should be on yao also, but u never hear about it because the perception is tracy is still the better player. As long as the perception is this, the failures will always be on tracy.

I agree completely. Expectations are higher with Tmac as it should be. Both Tmac and Yao have deficiencies but overall, Tmac is the more talented player.

Yao has no vertical leap, short arms, bad hearing in one ear, and is slow. These are Yao's physical limitations but he has a great shooting touch which people aren't born with. He makes up for his deficiencies by hard work, repetition and concentration.

I think had the OP stuck with this premise of getting a pass in the postseason he would have gotten his point across better. Sometimes dragging multiple variables and such into a discussion can dilute it.

But as far as postseason is concerned, Yao hasnt been put in the label of never getting out of the first round, nor has he taken as much blame for the shortcomings of the series he has played in as others(Francis/McGrady).

Not sure if its perception of T-Mac being the better player though. It certainly is not a wrong conclusion to draw based on the evidence.

The doctors estimated three month's rehab time. Tmac triples it.
Explanation1: Doctors estimated it wrong, and wrong by 300%.
    Explanation2: TMac was slacking off.
Are you saying the former is more probable than the latter? If so I sure hope Tmac can make you a medal to honor your loyalty.

Because the Big Liability gives us everything he has every night he plays. He does exactly what the coaches ask of him and tries hard. Tmac loafs, doesn't play D anymore, whines, shoots crazy shots, holds the ball, goes on on one for a 3 point shot. I could go on. He's never accepted Houston and Houston will never accept him.

Yao's great touch is not a born talent. He gets it by hard working.

I think the OP got the topic idea from my post somewhere. My point was that whenever there's a discussion with the word playoffs in it, you would think it's an individual sport. Yao is the second star on the team and he has made multiple all star performances, been dubbed the best center in the league by many, and yet his playoff performances are way below average. I came to the conclusion that everyone just has lowerd expectations for Yao (even though he suppose to be great, dominant, etc), he is cheap (best bang for the buck), and his attitude/work ethic is better than Tmacs.

That's good more people agreeing with me is a good thing. Maybe I can shed this rookie status when I collect more agreements like how Rpgs work.

    LEVEL UP!

WHY DOES ARTEST GET A PASS WHEN HE WAS CLEARLY A THUG? wouldn't his stupidity off of the court translate to stupidity on the court at some point again?

YAO DOES NOT GET A FREE PASS because:

he doesn't get a pass at all from shoot first point guards with weak D

he is paying TMac for any shot he can afford after the Chinese Govt.

HE MUST FOLLOW IN SOMEONE HE IS NOTs SHOES

he is expected to be sports center not one of the most skilled players at his height ever

it is only natural that a body of that magnitude is going to have its faults and every one that is not 7'6 refuses to acknowledge their own limitations in life I guess.

AREN'T YOU GLAD YOU YAOLUJOWON HATERS GET A FREE PASS TO CRITICIZE HIM ANY TIME YOU LIKE?........this is houston, hasn't roid heads like Bagwell gotten free passes? OR convenient store beaters like Dream gotten a free pass? OR wife beaters like Warren Moon gotten a free pass?

THESE PEOPLE BROKE THE LAWS AND GOT FREE PASSES because they all gave us a glimmer of hope that OUR GUY IS JUST THE RIGHT ONE FOR THE JOB.................TO WIN IT ALL........YAO IS NOT THAT GUY TO YOU I GUESS.......... I KNOW I WAITED 10 years for DREAM TO EARN HIS FREE PASS and he did......... and I think Yao is a once in a lifetime player for the rockets just as Dream was........ if he gets a free pass its because we know that he is the type of person that works so hard at getting better.... he is not perfect......but we want him to be the best.......just like you. :)

Killer Instinct- U can't put Yao in the same parking lot as dream. Dream went to the final his 2nd yr in the nba. Moon went to the playoffs in football 7 straight yrs. I really don't even know why I'm responding to u.

If TMac had the FG% of Yao, he would have been swamped with not just free passes, but "love" passes.

The higher the expectation, the deeper the hatred - that's quite logical.

Rox needs a 100% TMac to be successful in this year's playoff. Trading him before the Feb deadline would only hurt the team's chemistry, not to mention the unlikely availability of a player with similar talent as TMac.

Rox only hope lies with whether TMac would become 100% and gel with the team's flow of offense before the playoff. Fortunately, after reviewing his last game against the Sixers, I am confident that he is working hard in that regard. That's a good sign.

I'm so pissed at Yao today 9-12 how can you miss three shots

That is the reason people dont pick on Yao because in the current season he is averaging 19.8 ppg on 55% shooting on 13 shot attempts and still rebounding 9.5 rebs a game alongside the rebounding machine Scola and the hustle man landry.
