Because when we get a 20 point lead we still jack up 3's without running any time off the clock. This team is great but they don't understand how to change pace and game plan according to the situation. In football when you have a huge lead you change to a more conservative style of play. If this team was a football team they would be trying to convert 4th and 3 when they are up by 21 points. As soon as they get a lead and recognize they are not hot at the 3's at the moment they need to run time off the clock and try to dribble and drive option more. Maybe it is just me but I just know when a team is about to make a comeback. You can just feel the momentum shift. When a team is jacking up their 3's I am like yep they nailed it before they even release. I would like to see the hack-a-shaq even when we are up by 16 just to disrupt the momentum when you can just sense it.
This team does not know how to retain a lead. Another advantage of more than 15 points wasted. Anderson is not an NBA player, he's just a mediocre three-point shooter. A new painful defeat. Again.
Complacency. They go on cruise mode forgetting what got them the lead to begin with. And by the time you realize the other team is making a comeback, you're out of rhythm
Because they think they can coast to victory when they get up. Everyone gets goes in to chill mode. Harden walks the ball up casually dribbles a bit and passes to a player for a **** 3. Then they don't play defense and give up wide open shot after shot. It's a cycle it literally happened every game they get a big lead. When is the last time we actually beat someone down the injured Clippers? There is a problem with this team and it needs to be corrected ASAP. The past 2 weeks have been tough basketball.

the roster needs a talent upgrade. players 10-15 on the depth chart are not even nba players, that's why pringles never plays them. les and morey need to decide if they want to try to win while harden's still in his prime or to just keep kicking the can every summer. right now it's hard to expect this group to compete when every single other team around them in the standings has a much higher payroll
A few of our main players are very inconsistent and overrated specifically Ariza on offense and now on defense And Ryan Anderson on offense since no one expected him to defend anyways.
This is on MDA honestly. If it was the Spurs, coach Pop would kill most of our players for horrible shot selection. People need to realize that MDA is doing nothing special other than just letting our players chuck 3s from all over the court. The best job he has done is instilling confidence in our players, which is good, but I'm not sold on him being this great offensive genius. Our game plan is extremely simple, and is getting exposed.
