Rudy T treated his players like family. I remember when Steve had migranes and he talked about how Rudy helped him through it. Also, how Rudy welcomed Yao for thanksgiving. its family.
Riz is a stain on this board I don't know why I bothered with this thread At least Tinman is here for the good fight!

As do I. All this "Nobody in the national media likes us!" crybaby whining has got to stop. Respect is something that has to be earned and not given. The Rockets have done nothing for the national media to line up and kiss their behinds. Take a look at their recent history and you will see that the Rockets have not won a playoff series in 10 years and that this is only their 3rd trip to the playoffs in the past 8 years. Their playoff record since 1999: 2005 -- lost to Dallas, 4-3, first round 2004 -- lost to LA Lakers, 4-1, first round 1999 -- lost to LA Lakers, 3-1, first round Once the Rockets do something concrete in the post-season, they will get the respect you feel they deserve. You gotta walk the walk before you can talk the talk...But so far it's beginning to look like we'll finally be able to pay Utah back for that 1997 loss in the conference finals.
Tinman, perhaps I should have worded it differently.. it seems strange. I've heard kenny talk Rocks... though I have noticed he's fairly harsh on Yao Ming... but you've got to admit, watch other Inside the NBA shows. They comment on the teams. When they show a press conference, they comment. With the Rockets... No comment. Go to NBA.com and watch, you will see a difference between how many words are spoken about the Rockets. It's plain as day. My question is, what do you think it is? Maybe they are doing it for McGrady. I dunno. fromobile
fromobile, TMac does get more run when they talk about the Rockets. But to be fair, Tmac is the one with playoff 'monkey' on his back. Tmac is the one being compared to Kobe in terms of Skills. its been 70% TMAC, 20% JVG, %10 Yao. when the Rockets are on Sirius. To be fair, the co-host, Frank Isola and Mike Yam love Yao.
I distinctly remember Barkley picking the ROCKETS to beat the Mavs in Game 7 two years ago. We lost by FORTY freaking points. Rockets got embarrassed, and therefore, he got embarrassed. Since then, he has doubted the team. Can you blame him? His problem is that he thinks the 2007 team is the 2005 team. When he "analyzes" us, he only talks about T-Mac's lack of aggressiveness or Yao. Has he ever mentioned the names Juwan Howard, Rafer Alston, Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, or Luther Head? Note that none of those 5 players played in the Dallas series. That's what he doesn't get. He also doesn't get how much Yao has improved and matured. We're a different team... a BETTER team. He'll have to find out the hard way now, when he continues to doubt us... yet we continue to win.
what do you think the jet's deal is with Yao? I heard him on a knicks broadcast, when someone said "wow, isn't it something about Yao's free throw %?" and Kenny said "Not really, it's just that other players are so bad, they should be better.. " Yao shoots better than Kenny did! No credit. I think he's got something against the guy.
how's that possible? did you look at the TNT youtube link on my post (other poll)? Kenny predicts Yao would be a top 5 player in league. this was during the Steve/Cuttino Era. That's nit picky dude. i'm happy Yao can shoot free throws, but its really not that exciting of an acomplishment. Kenny's point is that 'big men' in general now, can't hit free throws. Back in the day, plenty of big players can shoot free throws. Ewing, Dream.. etc its an opitcal illusion that TNT crew hates on the Rockets.
Those guys predict Mia to tie that series as well. IMO Chuck in particular has largely proposed up proven playoff players/teams--Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, Pistons. Call him a big time front runner if you will. They largely discount the up and comers--Hou, Phx, Chi. Dallas is kind of in between. So I really don't think they have this extreme bias against the Rockets (someone even said they predicted the Rockets in game 7 two years ago only for us to get blown out). In fact they have been more positive than ever about the Rockets the last couple of weeks--and the Rockets have earned that praise by getting home court and opening with 2 playoff wins.
the more negative energy towards kenny and charles, the worse we play. the negative energy cannot affect kenny and charles because their positive hero powers are too strong, so your hate is diverted back to the Rockets of today and it shows in their play. if you guys dont turn the negative energy away from the heroes then you are dooming your own team.
because their offense is just horribe and the bench are bunch of scrubs on full display during game 3. Game 4 shows a little improvement but the leader in tracy mcgrady is gone
Kenny and Charles talked about the 94 Phoenix Series, (Rockets come back from 3-1 to win) on Inside the NBA after the Mavs/GS game. Clutch. City.
Looking at how Rockets are playing, I wouldn't use the word 'hate', but I definitely don't like these guys on Saturday.
I think the TNT crew can not stand the style of ball the Rockets play, it is not just ugly, it is HIDEOUS !! The game is changing and the Rockets need to get into the 21st century. DD
