Seattle is a fringe team, just like the Rockets. Kicking our asses is a bit extreme. We also have an "unbelievably good nucleus" with SF, Cat, and Yao with some decent role players added in the mix and one "stout" inside player (MoT) and one madman rebounder (cato). It'll be close, but Rox will probably take them.

BTW- When did Houston go to the Sonics?

Are we really dreamin..........Are we really that stupid??????

I remember our record the past 2 seasons.....and it was these exact teams we lost 2 over and over again..........

Hell we usually beat San antonio, LA, and most of the upper tier teams....its the teams you named that scare me...

    So in review people......................

ARE WE REALLY THAT STUPID?????:( :(

Really? Well, their "unbelievably good nucleus" didn't do too much vs. Houston this year, and Radmanovic is considered by most to be a first round bust, by many. If he was so "unbelieveably good" he, as a 3rd year man, wouldn't be playing in the Long Beach summer league with other projects and journeymen looking for a job.

If, by "stout inside players", you mean useless stiffs like Calvin Booth and Jerome James who make Cato look underpaid, then you're correct.

Keep waiting for the "I told you sos", you'll hear them when the sonics lose their 50th game or so around May.

First of all...........don't say Ya'll because I never said any of these teams are better........but they do routinely kick our ***

Second of all..............After 4 years of not makin the playoffs, I would say that playoff talk is pretty lame until I see us actually in the first round instead of talkin about it

Gater and Sam Fisher basically made any point I could have. I mostly just wanted to quote this and laugh.

    HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA.

i'm going to remember this and you will be hearing the i told you so at the end of the season. I'd be willing to bet money that Seattle won't break 30 wins this season. Losing Payton is going to be that big of a difference. Also, the fact you have respect for the core of Rashard Lewis, Ray Allen (not Allan Houston, genius) and Radmonovic but don't respect a nucleus of Steve Francis, Yao Ming and Cuttino Mobley is absolutely baffling to me.

What I perceive here is a definite lack of patience. While it is understandable that four years is a long time to be out of the playoffs, it is a much shorter period of time than a lot of teams. Philadelphia was out for years, Boston was out for years, the Clippers......:) Anyway, Rome wasn't built in a day, so it is with a basketball team. You have to form a nucleus of players to build around, develop chemistry, then add role players around them. Also, Jeff Van Gundy just got here. It would be impractical for him to blow up a team that he never coached nor experienced how they play together. While I respect the move that the Lakers made by adding two future Hall of Famers, even they have to mesh together and develop chemistry. I might add that just because you add two superstars, it doesn't guarantee that they will automatically win the title. It's about the team, period. Give the team a chance. You have to take it one step at a time, first the playoffs, gain experience, then win it all. It took Hakeem years to take the Rockets to the promised land (as well as Michael Jordan). By trading or letting your franchise players go all the time (Clippers), you establish no continuity.
