ARiza is the only real concern, I would like him signed again to the Rockets for the remainder of his career on a team friendly longer term deal so I want him able to play into his mid 30s on this team.
The Bucks are a mediocre team. CP3 alone makes the Rockets a very good team. It should be a win. Numbers bro... Even with CP3 having been out for a month basically, Harden is still averaging the least amount of minutes since 2011.
Have you not seen how the 3rd string gives up half of a 25 point lead in 90 secs? That means if you put them in with a 12 point lead you lose.
"Right now" as in since Luc got hurt? if so, I don't think you're following what I"m saying. Hell, even with Luc's injury, there's still no reason for starters to be in in the last three minutes of the 4th Q in a 20-pt game in the regular season.
32/33 mins for Harden and CP this game is OK I guess. In today's NBA big leads disappear in a flash though.
Just because Harden is averaging less minutes than before does not mean he's averaging ideal minutes for health. Lucky for us he's a beast but wanting to keep him fresh is nothing to get upset about. We need a deeper roster tho as no lead is safe with the bottom of our roster.
I don't like the heavy minutes either especially now that Luc is injured and the rotation has been shorten from 9 to 8. But beyond the regular 9 man rotation there's not much NBA worthy rotation players on the Rox bench. Black is borderline and the rest are G-league material. I'm hoping Morey is working on getting another rotation worthy wing/guard from somewhere.
I got to ask, have you not seen the way our 3rd stringers play? Garbage Mamba is arguably our most effective player out there on offense and he sucks!
His minutes are down a bit since when I last checked on bb reference, at which point he was still averaging about as much as 2014-15. Still, I think he could get even less. Look at how few minutes guys like Curry and even WB last year play. As for the Bucks, keep in mind that this Rockets team let their foot off the gas and came reasonably close to blowing games against both Portland and NO, both with primary players missing. Also keep in mind that the Bucks ended the ridiculous 27-0 or whatever start by the Warriors two years ago... Anything is possible in the NBA, let alone when you're playing against a >.500 team with the most promising young talent the NBA has seen in over a decade. We need to be prepared for Milwaukee... Esp on the 2nd night of a b2b.
Anyone else irked that we blowout the Spurs and the Game Thread sucks, and ppl are starting whiny threads like this to suck the life out of beat the Spurs. what a sh1ty game day at cfnet. Y'all s u c k. Don't know how to have fun like @DaDakota with his pithy post-games comments "Fun win. I'm liking this year. DD"
Even if you don't clear the bench, you at least don't need your MVP in until the last 90 seconds every damn night when we're averaging 15 point wins.
I knew some whiner-whiners were gonna whine about this... There is no such thing as a perfect situation. I love this team and believe we have championship potential... but not if our starters are worn out or injured by the playoffs. How about instead of going ad hominem, you answer the question? This is a legitimate concern IMO. If anything, it should earn the thought credibility that it wasn't a knee-jerk after a loss.
The real problem is Bobby Brown who is terrible at running an offense, period. Morey needs to acquire an actual backup point guard that D'Antoni can trust to run his offense in garbage time. Until then, we are in danger of giving up leads in a matter of minutes and that's why starters are on the floor too long.
Amen. Sometimes I just am disgusted I went from thrilled at a big win . . . . to annoyed as hell by whiney b~tches Rocket River
Like others have mentioned, our garbage time group is terrible, a 15 point lead with 5 minutes to go is not good enough for our scubs against the Spurs who have the best scrub group in the league
You're just complaining for the sake of complaining. All you have to do is look at the averages. The starters, objectively speaking, have not been playing too many minutes this year. Harden is the only guy averaging over 35 minutes per game, and he's still averaging fewer minutes than last year.
See above. I'm normally in the same camp as you guys. I'm not hating on any player (or even really hating on MDA), I just want us to do everything we can to keep this pace up. Can't believe how personally some people take sports... Relax, brolka dot. I'm still thrilled with the big win even as the thread starter.
