All the fun was during the game. It's all but psychologically proven that few people are any significant amount more or less happy a few minutes after a game, no matter how big, win or lose. At that point, the fun comes from speculating, critiquing, etc. So GTFO, hippie.

Bucks will also be on a back-to-back, and thats after losing to the Chicago Bulls.

Dude you are completely ignoring the fact that Harden and the rest WANT to play. Dropping Harden to 29 minutes or something could create a rift between him and D'A and screw with the chemistry of the club. Before the season started, Harden and CP3 bought into the staggered rotation we are playing now. D'A can't just arbitrarily change it without his stars buy in. We even heard during the broadcast tonight - Ariza wants MORE minutes.

Prior to the foul, the Rockets were only ahead by 14 with 6:30 left when they had an opportunity to take him out. The Spurs had also just scored 6 straight points. Do you really want him out of the game at that point?

Yeah it was so terrible how that third stringer almost injured Harden.

Embarassing that their third string is outplaying our 2nd team plus some starters

Embarassing that up 20 with 7 minutes to go your bring Harden in

Embarassing that Ariza is out there at the end of the blowout

The third string is Fing awful but Dantoni plays them all together, I think you need to mix troy williams in with some second stringers and same with one or two guys from the third string. You can't put them all out at once and expect them to be ok. And when their third string comes in put in our third string, they come in with high energy and harden is just getting lazy at that time, you know he's gonna lose his man and they are going to get good shots. Might as well give our third string some burn. Whatever...

Yes in fact all the starters and second string should be sitting when your are up 24.
If their third string comes in and beats your third string then you need to level up.
You don't keep your starters in the game against the third string what if they start to come back, then spurs put their A line up with Kwahi back in, now CP3 has already been out there and is getting tired and they have the momentum and the opposition just got 5 times better, thats a set up to losing a blow out.

CP3 and EG could have just handled it against their third unit imo. To be honest, we really lack 2nd to 3rd stringers that can at least play the game at a competitive level. The Spurs pretty much gave up at the end of third, yet we still have to put the starters in to maintain a 20 point lead, it's frustrating.

I must be missing something. Did the Rockets win tonight? Do they have the best record in the league?

Perhaps they should move Springer out of the leadoff spot as well.

The Rockets have the crappiest 3rd stringers in the league. If we had any actual capable NBA player from 10-13 we wouldn't need to keep starters in until 3 minutes left.

Also not all minutes are created equal. Even when the rotation players are in, it's different between a tied game down the stretch vs. a 20 point lead. In the end it's about level of exertion and not just simply the number of minutes.

Only to bring them back in to a 10 pt game? or less?

Who should have been in during that time ?
    Tucker/Ariza/Ego/Nene and Bobby Brown??

I fully agree with ya... I even mentioned it in a few game threads - up by 30 with 6 minutes left - and all the starters still in...

but the thing is... most on here don't wanna hear it... first they want the win... and then they want blowouts and big stat #s.... blah blah blah....

MDA has run guys into the ground his whole career with his short lineups... we've seen how that works out.... but people dont want to remember - and wont bother thinking ahead (ie playoffs)...

oh well... when guys run outta gas in the postseason - folks can always claim guys were concussed i guess... lol!

the ideal # of minutes is - as few as it takes to procure a victory...
if harden and/or CP3 or anyone else for that matter... can sit the entire 4th quarter of every game - and we get the victory - perfect! :) lol

I hope Luc will recover soon to full health. Ariza was overworked in his absence.

Yes he needs to cut down on Harden and Arizas minutes. Everyone else I'm not so worried about.
It's on Mike but also Morey to acquire capable 3rd stringers that won't lose the lead in a few minutes.

    dude....

flashback to how last season ended....

    Great regular season....
Harden doesn't rest... MDA runs short lineups...
People question MDA about his short lineups after game 5...
MDA gets smug and says people dont know what they'e talking about....
Team comes out looking flat, tired and disinterested and gets totally embarassed in game 6...
MDA says he needs to do a better job resting players in the future...

it aint about the nightly battles, man... I wanna win THE WAR! :)
