i dont see how we can say one player is better defensively than another on this team.. everyone has just been equally bad this year on that end
Lowry is just fine defensively. Sure, he gets beat every once in a while, but he also does a great job of putting pressure on his man and others, forcing the other team into bad situations. And he's willing to stick his nose down inside to finish defensive possessions by grabbing tough rebounds.
Indeed he did, but what about the last two games against Grizzlies? Game 1: Lowry FG 11-15, 3PT 4-5, 3 Rebs, 12 assists, 2 steals, 28 points Conley FG 7-16, 3PT 0-3, 1 Rebs, 8 assists, 3 steals, 19 points Game 2: Lowry FG 5-9, 3PT 2-4, 2 Rebs, 18 assists, 5 steals, 1 block, 17 points Conley FG 2-5, 3PT 1-1, 4 Rebs, 3 assists, 7 points Lowry did not play well yesterday, that part is for sure. If he consistently put up these numbers, he would not only be an all-star, but the best PG in the league. Like I said, this is knee jerking. Lowry is outplayed by another point guard and all of a sudden everyone is picking him apart. But as far as we've seen, AB is playing worse than Lowry. In fact, AB having a good game at this stage is an anomaly. And Mike Conley was the least of our problems. AB jacking up bad shots hurt us, Gay lighting Battier up hurt us, Randolph destroying everyone hurt us. If I had to make a list of things we did wrong yesterday, Lowry shooting 3s would be at the bottom. Anyone who watched the game should know that.
