Yes. You don't know - Barkley and Ewing always got more respect that Hakeem.

During the time, people would rate Ewing above Hakeem. Insane! Then it was David Robinson who was considered better. When Hakeem schooled both of those guys, they said Shaq was the best...and Hakeem schooled him too - in his prime!

I think it was his accent - I really do.

I think it was because Hakeem was so humble. He never talked about himself in the third person like other superstars. I remember when Hakeem schooled David Robinson in the playoffs and Clyde was calling him the best player in the world, Hakeem was visibly embarrased (even thought it was true).
    Best center of ALL time!!!
Still the ONLY superstar to win a championship without any other hall of fame teammates!!!

Hakeem was amazing, and very humble with great ethic.
But people still forget about him, and underrating him.

let me explain this to you youngers.

In the Eras of the 80s and 90s, there was no NBA LEAGUE PASS or social media or watching games on the internet

#1, STOP making assumptions. Dream was a badassmfker

#2 he made to the Finals in his 2nd year

#3 he didn't sign with Nike or Reebok or Wheaties or Gatorade

#4 NBA or CBS controlled what you watched when they had the NBA

basically the fed you what THEY wanted you to see and promote

#5 this is why young people today like yourself have this perception of Dream and the Rockets. Not your fault, but you are completely influenced by the powers of sales and marketing.

Houston wasn't rich and populated back then like it is now. It's about television revenue back then.

#6, Neo take the red pill

#8 It's no secret that a friend is someone who lets you help.
It's no secret that a liar won't believe anyone else.
They say a secret is something you tell one other person
    So I'm telling you, child.
