This was one rumour. $9 million over multiple years.

No way he gets as much as Scola.

so basically the first team to even make an effort to signing him won't did it for more than $5 million a year? LOL @ same as Chandler.

For 3 years, that's about the right price for Dalembert. But when you consider he's missing all of camp and the pre-season, the price should go down. Won't be much practice time during the compressed regular season.

Chandler is good-looking and Dale is ugly.

You do realize that this offensive Juggernaut that you are describing only averages about 8 pts for his career right. Last year at 10 ppg was his 2nd best year ever. Let's face it, neither of these guys are getting paid based on offense.

I don't think saying someone is valuable for "offensive spacing" is calling them a juggernaut.

That IS Scola type of money.

Certainly your not using 9 mil a year as your claim that Morey is low balling Dalambert.

And is speculation created on a fan board really considered a credible source? So what your telling me is that you have absolutely no knowledge of what DM is offering and if he is low balling or offering the moon. Great.

No, 9 million total, not 9 million per year.

Common sense would say if some team was offering the moon then Dalembert would have signed already. He's more likely to get Kwame Brown money than Tyson Chandler money.

But why is that, if he's as good as Chandler?

There are subtle differences between them and someone already mentioned that Chandler is one of the best in the alleyoop plays. Plus the perceived notion that Chandler is a good guy (him and his wife organized a charity for families that suffered from Hurricane Katrina) while Sam seems a malcontent in the locker room, GMs take that in account for team chemistry.

It is funny how players from championship teams tend to get overpaid. Anyone remember Trevor Ariza ? We all know that Chandler was considered injury prone and overpaid before last season. Yet now everyone is coming to his defense and smashing Samuel in the process.

Chandler needs to be on the right kind of team, but on a team with a strong perimeter threat he really is extremely useful. What he does is wander the paint until somebody decides to double a perimeter player. Then they lob to him for a dunk, which he essentially never misses. He almost never takes any other shots.

So on Dallas, they give Dirk the ball, which pretty much always gets them a decent shot. If a team tries to double or gets caught out of position, Chandler is waiting for a lob. So that means your offense basically becomes Dirk in single coverage + a 5% bonus for the occasional alleyoops. That's a good offense.

It was the same thing when Chandler was on NO. Paul would make a move on the perimeter (pretty much always producing a good shot), but then he'd have West to kick to or Chandler to lob to, yielding an even better shot.

It looks like he is this years version of Eric Dampier.

Eric did the same garbage last season acted like we was going to sign with the rockets but in the end he just ended up championship chasing with the heat.

If had to put money on it My guess is he is waiting for Dwight Howard to be traded so he can go to Orlando and be closer to his Home in Miami and Haiti.

If that falls through he could land with the lakers for the Tpe they got from Dallas. Sac would have to facilitate the sign and trade though.

In a Howard trade, Orlando will get back either Brook Lopez or Andrew Bynum and would have no need for Dalembert. The Lakers wouldn't need him with or without Howard.
