Why do you rarely see mixed couples where the guy is of Asian descent?

Sigh...another ten-cent response to a million dollar post.

    Thanks

Uh.... read this thread from the beginning. I'm referring to people like Mulder and there is also mention of a lawsuit. You are wrong.

Have you ever been clubbing in downtown Houston? Have you seen the ridiculous number of clubs that have been forced to shut their doors? Construction is one reason. The sociological theory which I have advanced is another. Ask any bar owner downtown what the major forces are driving this phenomenon and you will hear a common, consistent answer that directly validates my beautiful and articulate post above.

The one based on behavior, right? Social interaction? Common interests?

    Not race...

Who said what about boycotts? Not me. What are you referring to exactly? Maybe this:

    He said lawsuit not me.

Limiting the number of ANY racial group is discrimination. If there was a sign on the door that said no more than 10 latinos at a time, there would be an uproar. If a business discriminates on the basis of race they deserve to be sued. I'm just not the one who brought it up. Just wanna make that clear.

How long do most clubs last? I would bet the reason most clubs go out of business go out of style. And some club owners actually know how to keep their clubs fashoinable. How long has Mercury Room been open, what about Toc Bar or Sambuka. Spy also probably would still be open if the owners weren't busted for drug distribution.

And again, I wasn't even arguing with you, just your point about the political correct police trying to force clubs to be more "diverse". You have no basis to make that claim.

Now you have changed your argument and put words in my mouth which were neither stated nor implied. Nice try. NEXT

This is what Trader Joger posted in his first post in this thread.

    This is how I responed.

Now maybe I misunderstood, but here you make a reference to bar owners being condemned by the political-correct police. Now maybe you just meant people who have posted in this thread, but it isn't made clear.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I get really annoyed at the pretty frat boy, Dallas wannabes at the bars I go to. Ugh.

That is one of the things I was trying to find out - if they really are against racism in general or if their so often loudly voiced concerns are only self-serving. So far, unfortunately, it seems like the latter is true. Not much thought seems to be spent by those who replied (at least they did, some did not even bother, while they would have been all over a black/white thread) on trying to put themselves into the shoes of someone of another race. I find this interesting.

When have I ever stated that my concern is for the plight of all minorities. You are the most condescending and judgemental poster on this site. You should really be proud of that achievement.

Maybe this is a misunderstanding, I did not say that you stated that. I just find it interesting that people do not seem to care about something as long as they or what they see as their peer group are not concerned, even if it is the same thing or very similar. I guess that is just human nature.

As for the rest of your post, no comment.

That came out wrong, what I should have state that I have a particular concern from blacks. I have defended Asians on this board before.

But I'm not going to sit here and argue about who people like to go clubbing with anyway. If he stated that blacks kill clubs I would have had the same response as AB, which is why would I want to hang around someone that doesn't want to hang around me. Arguing about clubbing isn't worth my time.

Nomar also posted that he doesn't like going to movies with the black people who usually attend the theatre he does. I'm not going to waste my time arguing about that either. So if Sir Jackie Chiles would have read the whole thread, he wouldn't have put his foot in his mouth.

But he's the poster judge, just ask him.

Sorry, but I don't even know what you are referring to or talking about.

Then again, neither do you :).

You called my views self-serving, and you didn't know what you were talking about. As I stated in my previous post, I really just don't feel the need to argue about such trivial things as who people like to go clubbing with.

I think both this part of the post and that stuff someone else started about Asian invasion was unnecessary and kind of stupid...skin color/race should not matter, what matters is the behavior of the people. So the misbehaving people in your movie theater happen to be black, but does it have anything to do with them being black, really?

Actually, I was not even referring to you in particular. This thread just made me realize again that people get a lot more excited about something that happens to someone they can in any way identify with, even if the only thing they have in common is the skin color. But as I said, that is probably just human nature.

    Okay,

but you should have made that clear, because the post you were responding to named me in particular.

But it is true that you would have gotten quite angry and vocal about some of the things that have been said in this thread about Asians if the same thing had been said about blacks.

As soon as it does not concern the group one identifies oneself with, one applies a different standard, I think.

In my post quoting Nomar, I said that about you, Timing, Another Brother, etc., and I still think that that is true.

But the ensuing discussion kind of made me realize that almost everyone probably reacts like that (with different degrees of going from being outraged to being indifferent), so singling you guys out for it might not have been appropriate.

Going away from this distraction, I would like to repeat my question if it is true what someone has told me that many black girls get upset if black men date outside of their race, because they see it as a betrayal of their race.

And if this is in fact the case, I would like to ask what you think about it.
