I love Ron because he provides leadership and toughness to the team. I like the fact that Ron and Shane are PERFECTLY complimentary to each other. Shane brings poise and intelligence while Ron brings toughness and attitude. Both of them are great defensive players and they have a lot of respect for each other. Together they provide the leadership that is sorely lacked in past years. And other players (Yao included) response very well to their dual leadership!
i like his leadership, i'm in the minority but the players respect him, like they respect shane. i like having two wing players who can do that. i think the starting lineup yao luis shane ron AB is fine. we need to upgrade the bench, have a "jr smith" type of player, not von wafer, someone better. jason terry like player would be great, someone with a great jumpshot. we need more height, we need someone to backup yao. like i said, look this year for a player who can hit jumpshots, midrange to the 3 point line. someone in the mold of jr smith or jason terry and as long as we're healthy, we're a better than the lakers.
vcchlw thanks for actually appreciating Ron Artest, which basically is what this thread is for. Some people don't know what the word "LOVE" means. I guess to them "LOVE" = "we shouldn't sign you next year cause we don't like your shooting %" <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tHePDxATJKY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tHePDxATJKY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I love Ron because he manned up and brought it every night. He never whined about injuries or looked for doctor's excuse notes behind the team's back. He never threw any of our other Rockets under the bus. He never rolled over for opposing superstars. He respects the history of the organization and has made positive contributions (a rarity over the last four years). Most of all, I love him because he never gave up. Bring him back.
Ron, if you read this, me and River got love for you and NYC hip hop too. Don't be discouraged by all the freaking hate here on clutchfans. we got your back!
ron is a unique guy, and i like him as a rocket. but i don't share the crazy love some have with him. almost all say ron is tough. well, maybe. i mean he looks like a tough dude. but how's he tougher than most of the other rockets? someone please enlighten me on that.
Today's thread forecast is 80% chance of hijacking with 100% chance of talking out of both sides of your mouth.
Tinman, . . .what bothers me most is . . . . Clutchfans have become a place that expects Loyalty but offer none . . . Are we THAT TEAM now? Will we become nothing more than a Team of Mercenaries and a group of fans constantly looking for the new Flavor of the Month? Rocket River
I like Ron The way I see it, this team is basically a rocket, and Ron is the fuel. Yeah sometimes the fuel blows up. But without it, the rocket will never lift off.
With Ron Rockets finally managed to pass the 1st round in 12 years and was one game away from WCF against the mighty Lakers. I suppose it's not a coincidence and I would take that gladly. People are worried about his contract issues but I am not. In the post-game interview Ron sounded like he loved this team and wanted to stay. And with Morey as your GM, I am sure they will come up with a reasonable deal that would keep RonRon as a Rocket.
I posted this in another Ron thread but I cannot believe people here do not want him back.... Ron is the HEART of this Rockets team. His emotion, swagger, determination, effort, toughness, etc has rubbed off on these guys. This is the first time in years that I have seen a Rockets team not take **** from ANYONE. They don't back down and that has to do with Ron's influence. For years this team was filled with "nice guys," never willing to get in the face of the opponent, but Ron has changed that.
First, I just want to say that for whatever reason, be it his ankle or his age, the Ron we saw towards the later part of the season, especially in the latter half of the Lakers series, was not the same Ron. Normally, he's not an explosive player, but he looked like he lost more than a step or two, compared to earlier performances in Houston and in his days at Sacramento. I think something is bothering him, but he is too proud to talk about it. But, getting back to the topic, I just wanna say I LOVE YOU RON ARTEST. I HOPE YOU STAY SO WE CAN KEEP THAT TRU WARIER SPIRIT IN HOUSTON! THANKS FOR PLAYING A PART IN GETTING THE ROCKETS TO THE 2ND ROUND...I COULDN'T BE MORE PROUD AS A FAN.
yes we are. you know why? there's no consistency anymore except frustration. you hire mercenaries when your soldiers aren't good enough. Loyalty? who's been on the Rockets squad the longest? including the coach? it's only Yao. for the organization? besides Les cause he owns it? Bill Worrell.
uh sure dude you can live in your bizzaro reality, but I like it cause I never post in any of your worthless threads, but you always seem to be on my like a crack addict. i basically own you. every day of the year. i bet you will always post on my threads and NEVER TALK ABOUT THE SUBJECT. keep smoking it
