you TOFs have a really short memory. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TjbkXewxlGI&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TjbkXewxlGI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> he quit in the middle of a game and forced his teammates to play 4 on 5 on multiple possessions and was glaring at his teammates and coaches while doing it. he called the lakers to win the finals while his own team was still in the playoffs. he was an overall distraction to the team last year - said the rockets were holding him back - its all about him, not the team. pulled himself in and out of the lineup at will.
Because the way it's done around here is, if one of your star player leaves or decides to not sign with the Rockets. Then it is a obligation for most fans to start hating on him. Typical haters. He did us a lot of good. And I enjoyed the good moments. He moved, you all should move too. Look at how many people are hating on Bosh to now? Admit it were just a bunch of haters
cos he's a malinger!! but seriously, when people have high expectations on someone because of all the hype this person carries and when this person does not perform up to expectations what do you think will be the end result? he basically gave us false hope or you could look at it as the fans expected too much out of him but then, he was the highest paid player the past 2 seasons what do the fans expect out of him? and to top it up, his actions from the time he decided to just have knee surgery without consulting the team, that made it worse. for me as a fan, if he quietly gave his best, i would accept that but that game in Toronto where he gave up on the team just made me not like him. i dont hate him, i still hope he finds his game and plays for a team but never as a Rockets player.
Although I agree people are just hating on Bosh, the MerGady situation is completely different. He did some amazing stuff in his earlier years wearing the Rockets uniform, but he transformed into a cancer (in its truest form) the last couple of years. If you have absolutely no problem with that then good for you, but the hate is justified. In fact I think our "hate" is pretty tame compared to what NY or Philly fans would have done given our situation. Btw evidence shows that we do not hate on our star players for leaving (just for the fact that they left), unless they left on bad terms.
No, I don't hate McGrady. I pity the fool! And I will destroy any man who tries to take what I got! Spoiler
The pressure was too much for his back. On a serious note tho, T displayed his attitude problems in Toronto and especially in Orlando(dood kicked the ball into the stands in multiple occasions I think, correct me I know some smartass will) T did give up on us at the end, he had it twisted, he didn't think we believed in him anymore, we were just skeptical about him playing at his top level. He's not the first player to quit on his team *cough* Lebron *cough*. I just hope T retires before hurting himself permanently. We hate to love him, it's true tho. He was our ticket to a championship, but turns out the ticket was a fake.
I don't hate him, I feel bad from him. He is the prime candidate for someone who should've attended college. His comments aren't very intellectual and sound foolish. Did anyone read his workout with Chi, was mediocre. He can shoot, but can't move at all.
The only thing that needs to be moved on or at least closed is this pathetic thread. T-Mac is no longer on the Rockets so why the hell was this posted in GARM? On Topic: Hate is a really strong word. It is kind of impossible to hate something or someone you don't know personally. What I feel and what many feel, is a strong sense of disgust and disdain for T-Mac. Here are some of the reasons why: - Even though he can no longer play well, he expects everyone to believe he can and treat him like he does. He expected it Houston, later in Knicks, and now while trying to make the Bulls team. - He quit on the Rockets just like he quit on Toronto and Orlando and later the Knicks. This is not just a one game thing, but rather a recurring theme of a person who simply does not have the mental fortitude to get tougher. - It is funny how T-Mac fans always accuse us and everyone else of taking his words out of context. Right, so the media and fans of every team he has played for are wrong and always taking his words out of context. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. All T-Mac has to do is shut the **** up and many of his problems with teams would vanish. It is truly as easy as that. - He believes he can dictate his own PT; ranging from pulling himself out of the lineup at the last second and forcing another injured player back on the court to asking to be pulled out then subbed back in for the last 5 minutes to "showcase" his skills. When the Rockets and Knicks finally had enough, he pouted and opened his fat trap again. Sorry buddy, that is something that you earn from the coaches when you have their confidence. - TOF's like to point out that he just had microfracture surgery and needs time to recover. That is something that I can usually completely accept and agree on as it is a fact of life. Unfortunately, TOF's also have the memory of a goldfish it seems. They seem to forget that T-Mac and Grover both said that he was 100% ready and nothing is stomping him from returning to his all-star form. Guess what happened when he finally got a chance to play with the Knicks? Turns out Rick was right and T-Mac sucks. - In addition to the previous point, TOF's also seem to forget how loudly they were clamoring for T-Mac to play after he and Grover proclaimed that he was 100% ready and ready to go. Posts ranged from accusations about the class of our FO which is one of the classiest in the NBA to accusations that Rick is letting his ego get in the way. Well, history showed who was right. Hint; it wasn't the guy that still has no contract. - T-Mac is unable or too immature to take responsibility for his own words or actions Here are some questions for TOF's though they will probably just deny everything: - Has it not occurred to TOF's that there might be an actual reason that he has burned bridges and been shunned by fans and teams alike for every one of his former teams? It is not just the Rockets, but EVERY team he has every played for. - Has it not occurred to TOF's that there might be an actual reason that he is still currently unsigned? With a player of his supposed character and talent should be signed up immediately right?
i think hate is a strong word, we as rocket fans knew what he was capable of on and off the court, what we all thought was it would be different here in houston. not true, he showed his selfish ways here when he did not get his way and that is not what the fans wanted and the tean deserved. all on all i think that we are all just pissed how he acted.
I hate Tracy McGrady because he let Stromile Swift down. I hate Tracy McGrady because I had wanted Heineken but instead he got me a Budweiser. I hate Tracy McGrady because it was on him but then it quickly came off. I hate Tracy McGrady because he imposed his will on the game and then imposed his will on effortless play.
I don't hate T-mac...but T-mac is a fool. The man can only be "the man". And that's the problem. It was fine when he had the talent of "the man" but once his body failed him a bit, he still could contribute but only as "a man", not "the man" Problem is, that today, after all that he has been through - he still wants to be "the man". And that's fine. I respect a man with pride. But you don't say that to a team after they just tell you they want a guy who will be "a man" and not try to be "the man".
