 It's not about flashiness at all. You don't have to be flashy to finish with a dunk. People don't want Yao and Scola to finish with a dunk because its flashy...that would be stupid. Dunking is the most efficient shot in basketball, that's all. I think Landry is much less skilled than Scola but he converts on 60% of his shots because he makes most of the ones inside by dunking the ball.

    Landry can jump Scola can't.

Seriously we have had ridiclous complains in the board but this is the most ridiclous one , Scola can barely dunk when he is all alone on a fast break.
I wish Scola could dunk too but he can't he just doesn't have the ability to jump I can't understand this.

    Scolandry is what matters.

Landry has dunked at least 24 times.

For those who complaint that Scola never dunks: if you haven't noticed, Luis Scola isn't exactly the most athletic PF out there. The guy has no vertical, evident by his 0.1 blocked shots per game. Yet, despite of his lack of athletic abilities, Scola makes close to 50% of his shots and averages well over 1 rebound per 4 minutes (which is the standard for a good rebounder). He is not a great finisher, but he is a very underrated mid-range shooter and very few bigs can handle the ball like he does. Tonight Scola made 10 of 21 shots--that's 1 shot away from 50%.

I don't what you are complainting about. Scolandry has given the Rockets their best PF play in years. We are luck to have Scola, especially considering the price we paid.

Scola is a horrible defender and he still can't finish over people. He tries to dribble to his right and scoop underhanded layups almost every time he posts up. It's not surprising how often he gets rejected.

His strengths are his hustle and ability to finish on the break.

He's gotta work on his defensive positioning. He leaves his man wide open a few times every game and gets abused on the post by almost every player he faces.

Reefer can't shoot, Yao is soft, Shane is unathletic, Tmac is lazy, Scola cant jump, chuck hayes is short, Landry is undisciplined, Brooks isnt a true PG, head doesnt have a position, Artest takes stoopid shoots, Steve is done, Wafer doesnt play D. Am I forgetting anyone? I HATE LIFE.

lol well he was wide open on both dunks. He most likely will never dunk on anyone because he's not athletic enough, but he can dunk. He's still a very though guy to defend because he has some pretty good low post moves, but sometimes he does make an easy shot hard. I have no complaints about him though ,he's our hustleman.

Scola is a much better defender than Landry.

I agree that Yao needs to stuff it more. I'd like to see a bit more two handed dunks by him--> higher %. But dunking is only efficient if you can do it consistently. I've never been able to get up and dunk so for me to attempt dunking would be really inefficient as I'd have a FG% of 0. Scola, being 6'9" can dunk, but not very well so a lay up may actually be more efficient.

Just like u can improve your jumper, you can get more explosion. My wife is a ex college sprinter and used to train guys for the nfl combine. In a matter of 6 weeks, guys explosion would increase big time. Now he will never be amare or kg, but his core strength can get better.

I don't think its bashing, its missing easy layups in front of the rim. In the playoffs, u have to finish those plays strong.

I'd rather Scola work on his jumper.

His game is more about quickness than explosion.

Scola got lots of open shots, I don't see any problem with his shot attempts tonight.
