I'm pretty sure that you don't chant on offensive sets so that your players can communicate verbally. On defense, you try to disrupt verball communication of the other team. Same thing in football. If the O-line can't hear the snap count, they don't know when to start the play. It gives you a half beat advantage. This brings up something else for me. UT fans: Don't do the "OooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" chant when the other team kicks the ball off. It sounds like you are cheering for their kicker to pin our team deep.
probably because pronounciing it correctly De Fence and DEEE fence would some weird.. actually in UK and Aussie, when used general speak is pronounced Dafence..... do you guys have a Minister of Deefence...... and speaking of weird word speak... why don't use the same logic for Offense... should that be OO Fense rather than Off Fense...... O Fence ...cha cha cha O Fence..... works much better
