Why do the Rockets think Bosh, not another FA, is the right target?

I would say that Bosh coming to Houston would help fix the fronting problem in Houston. Having two bigs who are both threats offensively and have great post games would make teams think twice about doing that.

Then the perimeter is locked up with great 3 point shooters in Brook, Martin, and Ariza.

At the beginning, I don't like it. But, now I think the rockets make a right move. Bosh is the key of this free agent market.

I'm kind of disappointed that we haven't heard about the Rockets pursuing any other options, like some of the other teams are. I'd love for Bosh to sign with Houston, but the odds are against it. I hope the team's being aggressive in pursuing other players (Al Jefferson?), but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Why pursue Bosh when he hasn't won anything yet in Toronto? Or Why also pursue Amare?

I'd rather have have Daryl Morey pursue Carl Landry, trade Jordan Hill and develop Patrick Patterson.

I want Carl Landry back. He's a proven commodity.

Something else, it's easier to attract a star when you already have another. Bosh isn't just a star, he's a recruiting agent for other players.

I'm gonna keep saying it. All we need is a backup center. That's it.

I also think it's because of Bosh being a lefty. He plays on the opposite side of the post as Yao and that combination could be deadly.

I think we all know by now that bosh is merely a smoke screen for acquiring Carmelo in a trade. :))

Think of Brooks-K-mart-Melo-Scola (or Jhill depending on trade maybe PP) and Yao. Yum.

Please no Melo. He's a chucker with slightly above average efficiency, and he's a fine rebounder. Otherwise Trevor Ariza is as good or better in every way.

The dude averaged 30 points in the playoffs without a decent big man.

I wanted Bosh on the Rockets.. now I say **** Bosh. Do we really need a diva? He's seems to be looking at $$$ first, nba friends second, team third. This is all just a little bit ridiculous. The media, the twittering, the hints of going here or there, the being spotted jetsetting with other players to perpetuate this frenzy.. all the while he ain't done ****. Lebron yes, Wade yes.. Bosh.. not yet. He goes pretty much anywhere else in the mix except Houston he still ain't gonna do ****. Even Chicago. Hell our record was better than theirs even without Yao. (in the West too)

I say we go to war with the players we have. Yao will be back, + our players are a little more battle tested and hopefully Patterson and JH can beast it up a little. If we get Mike Miller then we add another sharp shooter to the lineup plus DM could pick up someone with more value or a hidden gem as he's been known to do. Can't wait to see the team now cause there's a whole lot more options when you have a 7"6 center down low.

I'm wary of this FA business, but I think I can understand Bosh's perspective. He obviously wants the max money and max years. He also wants to play with other star players, which would not only boost his popularity but give him a better chance at a ring.

Houston is not one of his first choices because while he can get the contract he covets, the fragility of Yao puts a question mark over a true championship run.

But if he's not going to get to play with James or Wade, he'll take the 6-year contract with Houston and hope Yao stays healthy enough.

If this is his thought process, it seems pretty reasonable.

If we could somehow dump Ariza and get Melo we'd be the hands on favorite to win the Ring.

Melo would give us the counter to Kobe, and with Brooks and Yao in the mix, there wouldn't be a team that could stop us. Throw in great role players like Scola, Lowry, Hayes and young big men like PP and Hill, and we have an awesome team.

Throw in a healthy Martin with that and Yaozer. We're the best team in the league.

DM said it so well in an interview early this year.

With the NBA being so competitive, you look for every advantage you can get. The All-Star though he may only be 5% or 10% better than the rest of the field still will be able to get you ahead. And you pay premium in this league for guys who can get you even 5% or 10% ahead.

After hearing this from DM, I kinda understood why he would be looking for an All-Star.

Still I like the position we are in. With or without Bosh, we are poised to have a good season next year.
