I really think Terrence Jones will be the combo breaker here. Just have to get Patterson out of the way.

Right now its Jones I hoping Dmo can develop, but the player we need is not on the roster. My vision is for Jones to come off the bench and play the Lamar Odom role he had with lakers then we are in good shape.

D Mo is soft, could still change. If he becomes Valanciunas tough then he has a chance. If he insists on being a finesse guy, he'll be a waste.

T Jones is pigeon toed, but has the most potential.

White is an ass, get rid of this cry baby, drama has no place in the professional world

Morris is small, can play in a pinch, bountiful offensive arsenal plus other things.

Jon Brockman was the PF with the biggest balls among them but we all know he was waived

I have been pushing for Greg Smith since the preseason. Jones is flashier, so let him back up Smith.

Valanciunas plays with a Noah / Dale Davis level physicality, you come into the league like that. That's not something players develop in the NBA.

Motiejunas has to gain strength, but expecting him to become an ultra-physical player isn't reasonable.

Scola being a bad rebounder is a complete myth. Dennis Rodman he isn't, but with the exception of last year when he was hurt he has averaged over 9 reb per 36 minutes every year. Subtracting last year he is at 9.6 per 36 for his career, thats not bad rebounding.

Eddie Griffin and Stromile Swift both played above the rim. But what they had in length they made up for in stupidity.

If you're athletic, long and skilled, you're usually a star, and as we've established those aren't easy to find. Or you are a guy that gets drafted very highly.

off topic but speaking of Horry...he was probably the epitome of a clutch player...w/o him the ROX and the Dream would never have won back to back championships

Off and on. He didn't start at pf in the playoffs until the magic series. Robert Horry was as much of a pf for the rockets as Melo is for the Knicks.

In this world everybody's a package.

You can't take the parts of people you like the most and leave the rest behind.

Finding the right compliment of players with strengths and flaws that collectively produce a championship contending outcome is the only thing that matters.

You guys always want to give up on players because they don't fit your dream profile.

Okay so give away Kyle Lowry for a "who knows?" draft pick. Amnesty Scola because he isn't perfect either. Let Dragic go sign elsewhere. That's the product of just one off season.

So let's restart the idiot cycle again in 2013.

For starters, dump Patterson because you know, after a couple of seasons where he saw inconsistent duty and was plagued with an injury or two, now it's clear the kid isn't going to be our "dream" power forward.

And to include Robert Horry in this discussion, it's just perfect considering he's the poster child for the graveyard of former Rocket players that the franchise and the fan base gave up on too soon.

Here's a thought. Is pretty obvious to anyone outside of Houston that this team is going nowhere in 2013 anyway.

Let the lottery kids play without having to look over their shoulders every couple of minutes because somebody might be coming to take their place.

I don't know. Did you see the tapes from Europe featuring D-Mo down on the block? He showed a nasty disposition, and would physically just punish the defender. One tape of a Prokom game stands out in my memory. D-Mo on the low block against a huge defender. D-Mo hunches down a little and then lunges upward. His shoulder caught the defender right in the sternum and D-Mo softly put in a point blank layup through the defender. There may be something in D-Mo that we have not seen in the NBA.

Im glad you mentioned Griffin and Swift they were a break away from the ordinary power forwards the rockets were always getting. RIP Eddie.. he had all the tools and skills people actually compared him to Horry. He had some red flags and needed help mentally , issues with drugs and depression it was a very sad situation. Swift lacked heart, dribbling, and never developed a consistant ability to spread the floor which is a key requirement for the future NBA power forward.

Anybody seen the new Rockets commercial?
"Reigning sixth man of the year, James Harden!,
    Global sensation Jeremy Lin!
    Rebounding machine Omer Asik!
    Defensive stopper Chandler Parsons!
    ...and Patrick Patterson"
Even the commercial guy knows PPat is teh suck.

Wow...he has not really shown me he can be consistant. Needs to be more above the rim and needs to improve on spreading the floor and finishing a fast break.

He just doesn't have any past accomplishments.

Even Parsons being listed as a defensive stopper is a stretch, I suspect they just didn't want to lie... and were probably told he is likely to be replaced before the season is over so don't bother coming up with a lie.
