Why do the advanced stats like Terrence Jones more than D-Mo?

You were doing really well until you started making excuses.

After reading through some of these pages, it seems an argument was put forth that a poster is inherently wrong for disagreeing with the coach. While I agree the coach knows way more than we do, disagreeing with the coach is basically one of the foundations this forum was built on! That's what fans do!!! If fans are going to be frowned upon for having dissenting opinions or speculating on team strategy, etc. instead of just waiting for what the coach does, then let's shut this site down, just watch the games, appreciate McHale and Morey's genius, and keep our ideas and second-guessing to ourselves.

How often is DMO going to be playing against those guys? Dmo is the best back up to DH we have. As much as you might not like Dmo at center, Jones is not an option at that position.

Yea, Josh was really struggling and was getting outplayed by Jones through the first four or five games of the series.

You need to look at the NBA.com Defensive Dashboard for those two in the playoffs. Jones was getting eaten alive defensively, and Josh was holding his own.

That's why I'm upset we let Josh go. I'm so sick of having a PF (Jones) who good PF's make a b*ch in the playoffs. Sick of him. Considering he's going to want $15M next year, I want him gone. Don't gimme that cr*p about Jones was young & what can we expect of him. I remember a 3rd year, out-of-position Robert Horry guarding prime Charles Barkley and Karl Malone with success on the way to the second championship.

I hope not. DMo wasn't very good at center IMO - and in many others' opinions. I hope Capela can get it done.

Disagreeing with the coach is definitely the lowest of the low-hanging fruit. Just because it's common doesn't mean it's good. It's not hard to take a bad result and blame it on the coach. It doesn't require a lot of thinking.

I'm DMo only fan and I agree, he wasn't very good at center on defense. He did what he could, he did a lot, but not enough to even be considered a long term option at 5. But overall he was a decent net positive while playing center. Just look at team record with and without Dwight. Little to no drop off in team performance.

One thing to remember here. DMo played most of his minutes at center with Terrence at the 4. If he had been playing at center with Smith at the 4 his defensive metrics would have been even better.

Then, what have your 16,000+ posts been about? Not giving opinions and reminding everyone to always agree with the status quo? I doubt that.

    Yeah exactly. What a joke.

-Paint others as having a position they don't actually have
-Lambast them over that position (again keeping in mind they don't actually have that position and have on the contrary argued the exact opposite of it against posters you are "aligned with")
-Meanwhile, ironically (or perhaps not) be the one to actually have a very similar position to the one you are now (unjustly) crusading against
-Bring up your "agenda driven" position in threads that are unrelated to that point
-Get backed up by a weirdo subset of this forum that have "99'er pride" and ignorantly believe that others are ruining the GARM.

    Amazing stuff.
