Any draft you draft a HOF is a great draft.

I've still got hope that Dylan Horton turns into a good player, too. He was starting to flash when his medical stuff came up. I just hope he can recover fully.

All I've heard about Horton's recent medical issues has been speculation. The only firm info was being placed on Reserve - Non - Football Illness designation. From there it is not wild speculation he has had a relapse or requires additional recovery time from the treatments with an outside possibility it is another illness which isn't directly related like a vaccine injury. If there is more substantial info out there I'd love to see it.

Unless something catastrophic happens the Texans '23 draft will be their greatest and it won't be close. If, god forbid, the entire draft class never played another snap after this season, it's still probably the second best draft they've ever had. They absolutely NAILED it last year.

Dude, it is Cancer. It is the same as Metchie. It takes TIME. That's why he is on that list. Maybe, he can help them later in the season. If not, they will let him get stronger and bring him back next season.

I definitely think it's the Cancer, but like the first go around, I haven't seen anything specifically reported other than the designation to the NFL.

He is probably a more private person and keeps his info close. The Texans appear to work with the players desires about releasing info as much as possible under the rules.

There is video of him ringing the bell after the final treatment in May. The Texans understand it may take a year before the player is really ready to play.

Unfortunately, the Texans have a history of dealing with draft choices being diagnosed with cancer. My point is separating educated speculation from factual reporting. But this is mostly about seeing if there is information out there I am unaware of. We all know that speculation is all it takes to put a label on a situation because of preconceived notions and ideas before waiting on actual information to get out.

In this case, 3 scenarios make sense.

    1. Recovery needs to be extended.

    2. A relapse.

    3. Some new illness and not directly related. (like perhaps indirectly related to weakened immune response} or unrelated.

Juice Scruggs is looking like he is going to be a pro bowler caliber player for many years. The 2023 NFL draft is looking like it’s got potential to be one for the ages.

The last time the Texans had an offensive line that NFL elite was when Wade Smith, Chris Myers, and Duane Brown were pro bowlers in 2013.

The 2013 Texans team also had Own Daniel’s, Foster, Andre Johnson, and Schaub. On defense it had JJ Watt, Antonio Smith, Joseph. The team also had Daniel Manning, Casey, and Brayman…. All the players were either pro bowl starters/reserve or Alternates.

That was perhaps the most talented team the Texans have ever suited up; but this years team may try and out do that elite squad.

The one thing different from the 2013 and the 2024 Texans is that back then the core pieces were at the tail end of their careers. Andre Johnson was nearing his twighlight years. Chris Myers, Schaub, Foster, Wade Smith, Antonio Smith, amongst other would not be in upward career trend, but would all slowly or rapidly have downward trajectories.

The 2024 Texans have youth on their side. There are some vets, but there is sustainability within a core that is quickly developing.

Seems that the Texans got it right with Juice Scruggs. What a breath of fresh air to know that the center may be a stalwart for the next 7 to 10 seasons.

As long as he stays healthy, knock on wood.

There is absolutely no way to know how many more superstars there would have been if there were no injuries.
