    I can't say that I blame you.

Seriously, when you are off on a European vacation, it's pretty tough to believe that you can't afford to properly insure yourself. Plus it's just reckless to travel like that without being aware of your medical situation. For people to be citing that incident as an example of why we need socialized medicine is just crazy.

    Nice work, d******d.

    I don't smoke weed.

And I was in Amsterdam on BUSINESS. I was stopping there to do research on a rock opera I'm creating in collaboration with Frank Black of The Pixies and going from there to direct a play in Kosovo through a grant from the Swiss government.

Also, I have health insurance, you ****ing *******.

Unlike two of my dearest friends, both also hard workers, employed all their lives, who died last year (one at 38, one at 42) because they lived in the only country that doesn't cover its citizens.

Sam, Medicare as a way to lower administrative costs is so shamefully low tech. We must concoct yet to be discovered schemes, in which we have to invest 15% in futuristic technology to lower the administrative costs. We will just have to wait for this. Sort of reminds me that we will have to wait to make progress on gobal warming till we have some sort of cold fusion or perpetual motion machine lie device.

I was run over by a taxi driver 6 hours after I landed in Amsterdam. I was supposed to be working in Europe all summer. He broke my ankle badly on both sides and I had to travel home to have surgery. It's been almost a month long ordeal already and I probably won't walk right for another year.

No surprise that the usual dickheads here turn that into me being a pothead that whines to the government for help. (I have full coverage and I pay a lot for it.)

I seriously hope they both get banned for their d******d behavior.

After two days in the Amsterdam ER/hospital, one day traveling, two and a half weeks waiting, one day in surgery and four more days in ER/orthopedic trauma unit, I'm seeing a pain specialist on Thursday. Thanks for your concern.

    And a big F U C K Y O U again, George.

I was not on vacation, I was working.

And getting hit by a ****ing cab means I wasn't "aware of my medical situation?"

You've been a d******d troll here for a lot of years. You've done tons of stuff worthy of banning. But this time you've crossed way over the line. I'm in pain, dick. I won't walk right for a year. I won't walk at all for about six months. Because I was the victim of a hit and run. That's a good occasion to slam me to make your troll points?

I've reported your posts and fmullegun's. I hope you are both banned for a long time.

To bad you couldn't make 1500 for your trouble of flying halfway across the world on "business"

Now you're suggesting my business is made up? Google me, *******. There have been stories in the Chronicle about my business there. What's your "business?"

And I was scheduled to make well over $1500 for my work this summer. That doesn't mean it was sitting in an account waiting to give to my insurance company in case a hit and run driver ran over me.

If you guys aren't banned for this ****ty behavior, for a while at least, I'm quitting this board til further notice.

We all have our disagreements but you don't kick a fellow clutchfan when he's down.

    You're a real *******.

So we aren't going to give the guy that is 20 pounds overweight the same level of care as the guy who runs 5 miles a day? Dumb. Very dumb. In fact, this reaches a level of dumb that is seldom seen.

We are going to INTENTIONALLY give subpar care to a guy who drinks too much compared to a guy that drinks iced tea with his meals? Somehow this seems okay to you? You have a seriously f'd up value system. When you are talking about somebody's father, somebody's husband, somebody's brother...their life or death...isn't the time to value one life over another because of their habits. Every life is important. Sorry you don't seem to get that.

For the record, "giving subpar care" is merely Latin for "some of these guys are going to die an otherwise preventable death." To try to argue otheriwse is intellectually dishonest.

Have I made my position clear this time?

I just don't understand why you can't just have both. If you like your health plan so much keep paying for it and you can use whatever doctor you want.
