Also I cannot wait till I have the public option. I will blow all of my money on weed and going to Amsterdam then b**** when the .gov doesn't pay for my medical bills I can no longer afford.

i wonder if they will also fix my car when it breaks down? After all I don't have the 3K to fix it. How do they expect me to work?

I can't figure out whether everything will be covered. Or nothing? It's sooo confusing. All I know is it will be bad. Bad bad bad. Those currently uninsured will bankrupt the nation with all their frivolous healthcare. And those who currently have the coverage (including Batman's $4500 ankle and Rhad's $9000 kid) won't get any service at all. It just seems so wrong. So socialist!

    ...

Sigh. Fine, disregard my arguments about this with your unsubstantiated "real world" schitck.

Either way, you're paying for the American health care system. 15.2% of the American GDP is spent on it, and for what? A mediocre system.

So stop your bellyaching about ADD and acne pills. They're irrelevant compared to the grand picture. And the big picture is that America is spending boatloads of money for a system that does not even work properly.

Well, for the 0.001% of idiots who want to somehow ingeniously prove the system is flawed by f****** up their own lives, I suppose we'll just have to lament their stupidity.

Your argument was that they are like teeth whitening which isn't covered by any dental plan I have been on, is like acne which has been covered by every health plan I have been on. Your argument sucked.

The French model is a good example of a system that is not so far off from the American one. I suggest you read up on it to get more of a grasp on what universal health coverage truly means; I'll say this, it is fluid for individual countries, but France provides a superb case study here.

You can still be covered by your plan.

The private side of the equation.

Don't expect to be covered by the public side for it.

    Jesus, can you understand this?

Seriously, you respond with anecdotal evidence. A couple of stories put forth on an internet message board and BOOM! we need socialized medicine. Don't think so. Weak sauce.

    Weak sauce?

    The WHO study?
    Commonwealth Fund Study?

Two well referenced articles about a similar system that could be easily implemented and have shown to be the best in the world?

Compared to an adlib story about Tom and unsubstantiated rabble about acne medication? Color me unimpressed.

So your answer is essentially..."we have the technology and treatments to make you well, but because your lifestyle includes ____________, screw you. We're going to let you die needlessly."

    Brilliant.

I agree that we do not need socialized medicine. Since you exhibit so much bravado about it, please provide an alternative that is not keeping the bucket of crap system that we have today.

I realize that actually formulating an original thought rather than some glib quip will be difficult for you. Take your time. I am a patient man. (unintended pun)

These yups are blinded by their lack of worldly experience beyond their peers. It make the suckers for conservative ideology. This is one of the reasons that having volunteer experiences could broaden their horizons.

The sheer otherwordliness of these yups is annoying. Yeah, everyone who works for an employer who doesn't have health insurance is choosing to do so.

Damn, Batman I was on vacation and missed your ordeal. What happened? A crush injury? Those are particularly nasty.

Of course not. Even those that can make a pain free person high, do not generally do so if you have real pain.

Damn, I have many worked with many clients with chronic pain and I wish you the best. Get to the pain management specialist ASAP. They are the only ones with the balls to prescribe the heavier meds with the triplicate prescriptions to the DEA and all.

No, we have LIMITED resources to treat everyone, so we're ranking everyone based on their responsibility to their own body and w're treating you like everyone else within your rank. You would not die needlessly, but your care would be subpar (or on par with your decile, or above par if you live a healthy lifestyle).
