Why do people say that Houston doesn't attract "stars"

There are very, very few franchises where a single star player would just straight up come on their own.

Overall we're probably at least one of the top 5-8 or so franchises where a star would come here if the other conditions are met, mainly having a star in place already or ready to come as a package, then well behind that is having strong organizational infrastructure. I give Tilman much more benefit of the doubt than most of CF, but he'll have to prove the latter. The former goes to that as well (smart drafting/trades/etc.) but there's also a ton of luck involved.

I don't think 610 west / Galleria corridor is where you're going to recruit these stars. You show them River Oaks and West U. Close enough to Downtown and incredibly secure and private for wealthy people.

Houston attracts but LA, NY area, GSW, Boston and Miami attract more and more instantly.
