It's not like his religion looks highly upon forgiveness or anything.

dude people are so dirt poor in Cuba, all they have is their voice, they can't afford a guitar or drum set.

that's why hip hop is so popular, plus u can dance to it.

    Hmm,
If I'm a a poor black Cuban person , who do I relate to more?
    Tommy Lee or Notorious BIG?

    tough one!

HIP HOP = for the poor
Rock = rich and angry white kids

Hmm... rock was a direct decendent of the blues, an art form created by poor Black musicians. Methinks your tin has developed rust, tinman. Can tin rust? As Neil says, rust never sleeps. ;)

Tommy Lee is as much representative of Rock as Vanilla Ice is of Hip Hop..

which is why it's funny. as is your description of rock and Hip hop.. :)

Elvis lived in a two room house and drove a truck...

The beatles certaintly weren't rich.. though not poor.

since I mention those two.. no hip hop artist is ever going to come close to "transcending cultures" and all ages as much as the music of those two..

What an amazing job, turning a prospering country into a ****hole. My grandfather built his house with his own hands, but I guess the bourgeoisie must be toppled and that home belongs to the people. Now some assholes are squating there.

Plus the guy got away with sexually abusing his stepdaughter on technicalities.

then why did they make a documentary about hip hop in cuba?
you think that those kids are listening to megadeth?

they made an ENTIRE DOCUMENTARY about HIP HOP in Cuba.
where's your proof that Rock is more popular in Cuba?

Besides latin music, its by far the most popular form of music in Cuba.
No one cares about Metallica in Cuba, hint, there's no white people there.

    mulatto 51%, white 37%, black 11%, Chinese 1%

    http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-233417/Cuba
Diverse ethnic groups have been settling in Cuba since the time of European contact—including Spaniards and Africans and smaller groups of Chinese, Jews, and Yucatecan Indians (from the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico)—who have created a heterogeneous society by superimposing their cultural and social characteristics on those of earlier settlers.

More than half of Cubans are mulattoes (of mixed European and African lineage), and nearly two-fifths are descendants of white Europeans, mainly from Spain.

i don't think you are totally off base here. i own a fair amount of hip hop but it is dwarfed by my rock collection. yes, i am rich, angry white man. hip hop does not speak to my situation as directly as rock, but that's okay, i can glean a different perspective from it and that is a good thing. but you have to think about the fact that, as a poor black man, you are creating a generalization that is limiting. please tinman, don't be a hater. haters make VY cry.
