There is no real evidence to rule it "in", so there is really no need to rule it out. I believe that's the point of the thread.
Anyone can talk about intelligent design all they want, as long as they do not call it science it is all good.
It's not proven either and can't actually be proven scientifically. Intelligent design is fine as a philosophical concept but the problem with calling it science is that the existence and means of the designer would also need to be proven.
"It is all good" assumes it's any of anyone's business. It's really not. My approval or your approval is not necessary for whatever they call it. There are plenty of ridiculous things called science and I don't get worked up about it. If they want to hypothesize that searching for scientific evidence of intelligent design is a reasonable goal - I may think that's idiotic when asked, but I really don't give a damn unless/until it infringes on my life unfairly. Similarly, they don't really give a damn that I think it's idiotic. As long as we don't get in each others' way, it really doesn't matter.
Plenty of people in this country(USA) want to teach intelligence design in schools as a science subject, that's where I have a major issue with the concept.
Not to the same conclusion, but to the same place. No one put that speck there. Time didn't exist before then. Time is merely a measure of change within space. Since space nor time existed before the big bang, it means nothing changed. Nothing could be "put" or "place" no "thinking" could have happened. No will, no desire, nothing constrained by time or space. If you believe in a god that "thinks" or "acts" then you don't believe in an omnipotent god, you believe in a god confined by the same laws we are confined to. My point, nevertheless, is that it does not matter. Your purpose isn't any different whether you believe in a god or not.
