Right... since you said YOFs compare Yao to the all-time greats. So far, I haven't seen one person make that claim. So, who exactly are you responding to? Your frontal lobe?

    T...
You pretty much lost any benefit of the doubt of sanity from me when you named Lopez as the best center in the NBA. Really? Given his many years in the nba  ...and dominating numbers.....yeah, he's better than Yao.

Just so we're clear, you don't think Big Z is a relevant comparison to Yao b/c Yao is 4 inches taller and 40+ lbs heavier.

You then proceed to compare Yao to a player who is 13 inches shorter and 130+ lb lighter than Yao...

So you think that like a guard's game, a center's game is predicated on cutting and constantly jumping? Interesting...

Ok...so if Yao was playing this year, would you say Lopez is better than him?
And if you don't want to play if the IF game...then you certainly don't think Lopez is a better basketball player based on what Yao has done throughout his career, right???

Yes, there are idiots (1? a few? less than 10? or how many? Did you count?) and I know there are also idiots who complained about Yao having not enough touches. We have more than 30,000 members on this board. So what did you expect anyway? Believe it or not, if you post a poll as to whether Michael Jordan or Bryon Russell was a better player, rest assured that a certain percentage would vote for Russell. This is the internet after all and there are all kind of crazy people hanging around here. You should know this if you have used the internet long enough.

You know what your problem is? You have been relentlessly using what a few idiots have said as an excuse to attack anyone who don't agree with you about Yao Ming in a debate. "Ok, one or a few idiot(s) have said this 5 years ago and so all you YOFs share the same way of thinking. I am T-man and my tactic is to label you a YOF in order to discredit your opinion if you don't agree with me ..." Can you see how stupid this assertion is now? And you have also been very passionate in doing this for quite a long time already. I am honestly very curious about your behavior.

It doesn't matter...if he said Lopez was the best center in the nba, even if Yao wasn't playing this year..then he thinks lopez>dwight howard. Lopez is good, but that would be a really stupid statement.

    Ok,

Now you are getting away from the discussion on going down a different path...

You ask me who I thought was the best center in the NBA now.. I stated Brook Lopez.

Alright first off I have respected you and not come down to your level of calling any one stupid or idiot...

You want to talk and discuss fine I can do that... I have no prob with Hayden, he has his views... I have mines. I will discuss those views with him..

Now I have not backed down from any question that has been asked of me and I want as long as it pertains to the discussion..

Now I agree about the ones that take things over board.... The same as with TOF.

Now as far as the discussion goes about Yao.. There are several different thread titles on the same subject on [How will Yao fit with the current team and be used next year] Same question in different title

I answered this question a while back..

Now I view Yao the same as Walton from a Comparison stand Point and if Yao wants to continue his NBA career he will either have to move to a different team with veterans and also adjust mentally and understand that he will no longer be the main man.

    Never going to happen.

Yao is a 7'6 center with a polished offensive game. His last injury changes neither of these facts. If anything, he will play reduced minutes this upcoming season, but when he is on the court, expect him to be the focal point of the offense.

Whoever said Yao only played well in Game 1 of the Portland series -- you have got to be kidding me. Did you even watch it?

Pryz/Oden were fronting Yao after Game 1, with Aldridge providing help from behind. This left Scola open at the elbow the entire time.

(btw, people talk about Scola playing well that series, failing to realize how many open jumpers at the elbow he missed)

The Blazers centers fronting Yao also weakened their interior defense, providing Brooks space around the rim.

Scola's and Brook's strong statistical showings in the Portland series were a direct result of Yao's presence.

Hayden, if you want to discuss.. I will discuss...

But I'm not going down the If and Past History deal.

My points have been about the Rockets moving forward with the team that they have.

My view of Yao is that he's a good player not a great player... No more to it...

There are very few Really good Centers in the League.. Howard is good, but he has yet to step up and take his game to the next level.

Jefferson has a lot of talen but a head case.

Yao is hurt and not playing

Now when I look at the best in the League, i'm looking for that player that you can surround with good players and he has that ability to take them to the next level. Right now with the current Centers in the NBA I see that being B. Lopez.

I am good with that... You have your views and I have mines, but I have no problem discussing those views in a respected manner.

Fair enough....but I still think the majority of users on CF would think your views on Yao, and basketball in general is uneducated.

See we were doing good and then you had to go down that road...

I will say this and leave it at this.. I have this entire situation with Bill Walton.. So your views are your views.

Morey said Yao himself will bring 10 wins. let us say the rockets get 45 wins this year. so next year the team will get 55 wins with Yao back. is that good enough? properly another piece is needed to be a championship contender.
