Why do Houston and Dallas hate each other so much?

    Honest question. I've been spending a lot of time in Dallas on business recently, and both cities are pretty similar: sprawling metropolises with never ending freeway construction, traffic, and suburbs, chronic obesity, and football fanaticism. They are more similar than different, so from a third person point of view, the rivalry seems kind of silly.

    dunno bout the hate but houston is clearly better because it has more culture and is definitely more pertinent to the grand scheme of things than dallas

    The sucking of Dallas plays a big part. Also, Houston is a Texan city, while Dallas is South Oklahoma.

    Dallas is just a wack city. Houston has it's flaws but overall it is better. More hospitality and culture along with less stuck up-ness.
