Dont believe any of the BS you just read about loving steve's heart. Dig up a few old threads. You'd think Steve was the devil, the grinch and hitler rolled into one. Fans will be fans...
hmm i would not say that a huge majority of rocket fans are more francis fans than mcgrady fans. i personally like mcgrady more than francis. when i attended open practice the last two years, the cheers were pretty the same for both players. as for yao liking francis more than mcgrady, it's probably because francis showed him the ropes and was probably one of his first true friends.
I can't stand Francis, and I'm not high on T-Mac. However, any player that wears the Rockets jersey, I will cheer for.
LMAO. Please, for the love of God, tell me you don't actually believe what you just wrote. Indeed. Naturally, you never heard these folks complain when Steve showed up for camp completely out of shape.
He played with heart He loves Houston He loves Yao He loves his fans He has had an unimaginably tough life, and has turned into a great person................ We Houstonians love Steve!
wow, another poster with another myth? pull up game 7 please and see who quit (basically everyone not named tracy or yao)
first, let me say your are right, the only two people with half decent stats is mac @ yao. however, are you able to acknowledge that 10-26 (his first half is worse if you want me to pull those stats up) is not exactly leading your team to victory?
Heart as in runaway freight train? Someone needs to enlighten me because I honestly don't get this myth about "heart" dictating how a player carries himself on the court. I've watched Stevie in his all-star years in Houston and I never knew his reckless style of streetball is a display of "heart". Fans love Steve because of his flair. He will make a great And-1 star. T-Mac, when healthy, is several notches above Steve. However, T-Mac will forever be viewed as a mercenary, a hired gun while Steve will always be considered a home-grown star. Perception is often just illusion.
a half-ass tmac is still several notches above steve. too bad the rockets have never seen a full season of t-mac playing seriously since 2005. the league had t-mac top 6 in mvp voting 2 years ago, not a mercenary.
Like all of us, T-Mac ages. He will never be the T-Mac in his glory days when he can sleepwalk to a 40-point night. He is still very good but he does not produce at a higher level these days because he is getting OLD. It is not his heart that's letting us down. It is a combination of his knees, his back and every moving joint of his body. Why are we so forgiving about Steve's underachievement but so merciless toward T-Mac? Exactly how many rings did Steve win for us again? Yeah, I thought so.
the same as amount as playoff series that t-mac has won. it is a pretty futile argument, i agree. steve, although bone-headed at times, never had a primary issue of in-game effort. t-mac clearly does. if you think it is just this cav game, you are wrong. there is clear orlando history, and rocket history leading up to this. that is a direct answer to why t-mac is treated differently.
lol! this is turning out to be "another" T-Mac hate thread... Clutch. I think these guys need one common thread for bashing T-MAc.. similar to the Utah jazz thread..
Why we love Francis? Heres why <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TuI_IXW-ZVk&hl=zh_CN&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TuI_IXW-ZVk&hl=zh_CN&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jMxzrI09yis&hl=zh_CN&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jMxzrI09yis&hl=zh_CN&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
It should be said that I am neither in Steve's camp nor T-Mac's camp. I love whoever brings us the next NBA championship ring. As far as Steve's perceived "heart" goes, I am not all that impressed. Result is the deciding factor in gauging someone's performance. Trying hard doesn't buy you much these days. Love Steve with all your heart (there is that heart again, ) but stop hating T-Mac because he doesn't go ape on the court.
