I am never completely sold on AB. Shoot-first PG is a cancer for team chemistry and hurts the team's ability to win. A good PG should take what the games give him but not force the issue. I am pretty sure if Nash or Deron are as trigger-happy as AB, they'll average more than 25 pts per game. But they know better - only when everyone gets enough touch can they contribute.

But I don't mind him keep being a volume shooter and getting his numbers padded. All in hope that we can sign/trade for Bosh and Jose Calderon. Jose is a past-first PG with unbelievable court vision. His defense is very bad, but hey, we can still use Lowry.

My thoughts exactly. He (along with the rest of the team) played with little fire last night. Combined with the fact the shots weren't falling...it just all went downhill.

Because it's the GARM. You are only as good as your last game. The only player I have seen immune to that is Carl Landry. And he did have some bad games.

Way over-rated? Im sure you weren't saying that the 3 games prior to last night. If anything, he's under-rated because, talent-wise, he's not on the Lebron/Kobe/D Wade level and yet, is still more efficient than any of them

Thats one thing i miss about Von Wafer. We he was on the court he played with so much passion that inspired other players. That one thing i miss about him.

Calderon? Really? The guy is paid nearly as much as Kevin Martin, for as many years and is not a top-15 PG. I would need Bosh at MINIMUM to take him on - at least Dalembert and Jeffries were only for one more year.

My point exactly. He knows how to get to the line so get him the ball. He'll make them too!

brooks has been our best offensive player htis year, and is arguably the main reason we are above .500.

and some of you have the nerve to criticize him?

dude, everybody has bad games unless you're lebron james.

he's a 40% 3pt shooter. that's a great % from that range. yesterday was just a bad game. he'll play better next time.

and in adelman's system, you don't need a true PG, word to mike bibby.

the reason brooks takes the majority of the shots is b/c he's the team's best creator/ballhandler/playmaker.

martin is not that good off the dribble.

    Does it matter!!>!>>!!

    He got an OPEN shot!!!!

If it was contested I would have understood. They both shot crappy too, so it makes no difference.

I agree with everything here, except the last line. I think Martin has the handles and the quickness to beat his man one-on-one

It would also probably help if the guys he passed to weren't shooting air balls when they get wide open 3s.

Ultimately if the basket does not go thru the hoop no one gets an assist or the points.

Just sayin. *cough, cough* Will Conry *cough* Shane Battier

Every time Martin got the ball in the last 5 minutes (from what I remember) Scola would try to set a screen for him, but instead of coming off the screen hard, Martin would go around it, stop, and then pass it to Scola who was still trying to set the screen.

At one point I remember him passing it to Scola and when Scola looked to pass it back to him, Martin pointed to somebody else.

I really like Martin, I think he is an excellent talent that the Rockets really need, but last night he was completely passive and it forced Aaron Brooks to try to do all of the work. While I don't personally mind the Rockets putting the ball in AB's hands when the game is on the line, it's probably not going to work well when Aaron is having an off night. Unfortunately, the Rockets had no other choice since Kevin was being so passive.

lol. thanks though. it's just baffling that we have still have these type of threads even after tmac is traded.

martin can create his own shot off the dribble if he is able to beat his man with ONE QUICK MOVE usually. he's not a guy that you can just isolate and let him go to work on a consistent basis down the stretch of games. AB is a better option b/c he has a variety of moves, with extreme quickness.

and i'll bring up something that JVG always says. only the great teams are consistent. we're not a great team. we're an above average team as our record indicates. more often than not, we'll play well. some other times, we won't. last night was one of those games where we sucked. let's just move on.

if we had yao ming healthy and we have these types of games, then i would be more overly critical.

Do you have any REAL insight in what you say, or do you just say it to instigate? I'm just asking, because I've seen you say things like this in tons of threads, but you never actually back up anything you say with those pesky little things called FACTS.
