I guess that having the best record in the league and pounding other contenders on the road since Jan 1 is why you're so confident the Spurs don't have a chance. Thanks for Willis. He's been great on the floor and in the locker room. A repected member of the Spurs group who shows more professionalism and work ethic at 40 than almost all the players nearly half his age. I fully expect he'll be with the Spurs another year or two. Who knows, maybe with Kidd and Duncan he'll walk away from the game with 3 rings. :D

Yeah, so what! All this respect, professionalism and work ethic doesn't mean he is an effective player.

striker, the Rockets players respected all these attributes of him back in 97 and 98, but these attributes did not prevent him from sucking in the playoffs those 2 seasons. Did you see the games in Salt Lake City back in 97. He couldn't stop fouling on defense, and really blew chunks on offense. He killed any Rockets hopes of going to the finals.

You can roll your eyes at me all you want, but wait until the playoffs come around and Willis and the Spurs are in the semis or west finals. The intensity of the playoffs at that stage will be too much for him. He'll take ill-advised 20 foot-jumpers and miss them, he'll air-ball jumphooks and commit traveling violations just like he did for the Rockets back in 97 and 98.

There is a reason teams with Kevin Willis never make it to the finals. The guy becomes a cancer offensively when the stakes are at their highest. He becomes waaaay less effective on offense as his teams' playoff runs get deeper and deeper.

If Kevin Willis is on their playoff roster, the Spurs aren't gonna win squat.

Scuse me if a 13 game stretch doesn't impress me, else everyone would have annointed the Mavs or the Blazers the title earlier in the season.

The Spurs will find an excuse to lose this year, just like in past unshortened seasons. One of which may very well be "they're not the better team".

No need to thank the rox for Willis. He chose to go to the Spurs. You can thank Willis for his own decision. And he does have a great work ethic. But he is a black hole and chokes in the clutch(like the spurs dont have enough chokers).

Maybe he will be on the bench for the Spurs for a year or 2 more. Behind freaking "prize" max fa Olowakandi. :D

Oh yeah, a nice 13 game stretch, lets just hand the Spurs the championship right now! Bottomline, the Spurs are playing well now but how is their offense going to work in the rugged playoffs? That's usually when the Spurs shortcircuit. There have been a lot of teams that have cleaned up in the regular season and folded in the playoffs. Good luck building for the future and locking up Willis for the next 2 years!

Imagine Kevin "Blackhole" Willis, 'Nique "Get Outta the Way" Wilkins, Moses "Ball-hog" Malone, Antoine "Shoot-till-it-hurts" Carr, Reggie "Me First" Theus, Doc "Shoot First, Pass Second" Rivers, Spud "I'm Too Short to Pass" Webb, & Jon "How Did You Get That Contract?" Koncak ALL on the same team.

...And you guys probably think the Rockets are selfish. That Hawks team (88-89) was possibly the worst combination of selfishness & great talent ever assembled. Of course Willis had a big part in it.

He might have been a decent mentor for the Rockets big guys, but IMO he's no great loss.

Hey, the Spurs are used to winning titles in a 50-game regular season. So you have to understand them.

    :p
